I am a 35 year old who started jujitsu 3 years ago. I have achieved my blue belt and am working on getting my black belt. Black belt is like what Coach Herzog said it is a way point in the journey of jujitsu, it is not the end of the journey. jujitsu is excellent example of what life is, struggle, achievement, more struggle and more achievement as you achieve greater things, the belt signifies what type of character the person has, it represents that that person did not quit in his or her jujitsu journey and that can translate to the type of character that they have in life.
School is for everyone but only a few become a doctor.
Yes, the old and weak can still get black belts, but they must be ultra sharp technically and be able to smash 60 year old purples :)
Don't send your kids even to elementary? College not for everyone sure.
Most people are born physically capable of achieving brown or black belts. Most people who start jiu-jitsu are not going to be able to make the long-term sacrifices necessary for a brown or black, though.
