Is he another fat dude?

Not at all Louis.
As far as the book goes, to be truthful, I didn;t get all the way through it. It was extremely repetitive. He would have photo sequences showing the triangle choke over and over and over, sometimes the only difference being the slightest change in your opponent's starting position.
ie:
First technique: This is how you put a triangle on someone when they have their left hand on the mat.
Next technique: This is how you put a triangle on someone when they have their left hand on your chest.
Next technique: This is how you put a triangle on someone when they have their left hand on your choking knee.
I am exaggerating, but it really started to feel that repetitive to me. I loaned it to my coach Stew and he hasn't said anything notable about the book. Sure the triangles are solid and sure the K-control is neat but this didn't improve my game the way I hoped.
In fairness, I didn't drill any of the techniques either because I got glossey-eyed trying to see the difference between a lot of them.
Here guys, Youtube is blocked for me so I can't see the videos, but apparently Neil shows some of his stuff from K-control at this page:

i agree with this.
even when he is working from a different guard he goes to the same style of triangle but each time shows how to finish it even though it has already been shown a bunch of times before. the page length could have been dropped (along with the price).
Just so everybody knows, Melanson only has sight in one eye, and was blind for a good portion of his life. He never competed due to this, but his stuff is legit. When you hear him talk he always gives credit to people, especially eddie. According to his book, the only rank he has is a black belt in the Hayastan Grappling system from Karo Parysian. He also recently left Extreme Couture for Alliance MMA. As for his techniques they're legit as all hell, give him a look
Ryan Couture uses a lot of his techniques from guard, including his strikeforce debut which was a win by triangle from the irish collar
