If Renato reads this topic, he might very well go on a rant about how 10th planet are a bunch of sandbaggers.
Never buy yourself a blue belt, or any belt you have not been promoted too. Best way to get the shit kicked out of you.
Sarcasm man..damn, Its a thread about sandbaging in class?? lmao
You fail to realize there are impressionable people reading this that don't know any better and would go buy a belt. We've seen in happen.
I apologize I never thought about it like that.
every jiu jitsu school i've ever done a drop in at has always, always shit talked me the second i move into mission control, always given me shit when i ask about leg locks (too dangerous, white belts, not in rolling, etc),. it almost seems inescapable.
i have no idea how i stumbled into the school i train at where we do everything you can do nogi,., and thus i had no idea that people were adverse to leglocks and something as simple and logical as securing a high guard by underhooking your leg. it's made me appreciate the difference between grappling and jiu jitsu,.
jiu jitsu guys sometimes just dont like things that go against jiu jitsu convention, i guess is what i'm saying
that is a real funny story I don't think you should have told him anyways, you taught them a valuable lesson, at my school we had a few new white belts come in my instructor told us all of them had no experience or training and then they guy is sweeping and passing on some of the blues... he tricked us he told us after that no matter who comes in the door don't toy with them put them on their back and you'll figure out fairly quick if they know any JJ, hopefully they learned the same and won't underestimate anyone who walks in the door, just think to yourself every new person that comes in is a black belt that way your never disappointed or suprised .
Im just a blue belt, but i feel like their are two types of "walk-ins" guys, one wants to see what their made of and guys that want to learn news stuff. now on which catagory you fall in depends on if you get the "biz" and as a blue i def. don't want a walkin that said he/she is a white belt to just dominat me(yeah its a little ego but i feel like a carry a target on my back every since i got promoted) now if they got me cause they are better...no big deal, i don't keep score, move and learn from your mistakes
Now some guys that may not know how to control "ego" might come up stories like...he is sandbaggin ,or i was tired before he got here, or my knee hurts i don't think i can roll tomorrow, and then still rolls the next day. thats a diffrent story
training for 5 years you must have gotten "somewhat good" at least have a good understanding of bjj...don't worry about what belt you are, i maybe have wore my belt twice since i got promoted, i think number of years tell more that the color of the belt
Was this a traditional jiu jitsu gym or a BJJ gym? It makes a huge difference.
