IN my opinion anything on that leg lock immunity dvd, would be the ticket for me any day.
Even reviewing Alan Belcher's webinar that he he did on this subject with Drysdale was awesome too. Its to the point and covers all dangerous bases. If I was in this situation, thats what I would do for sure and also Gokor's dvd on the subject as well. I think having a great leg lock game is critical in understanding the fine nuances of the leg attack game. Know your enemy as much as you know yourself right? Throw yourself into what you fear most and make it totally normal, I believe, is the key especially here. Look at what you did with Chuck Liddell Eddie when you worked on his submission defence from full guard?? He was un submittable. You put him into so many situations like triangles ect and you could bet your house he wouldn't get submitted in his next fight. Same thing. Maybe not what you wanted Eddie but just my thoughts anyway.
Very useful tips:

The first thing I would do is watch tape and identify all his leg lock positions of control/dead zones (his are similiar to the ones I teach).
For each one of those I would teach an escape and a counter attack.
Then I would identify his transitions to the those dead zones, and teach 2 counters to each one of them to prevent him getting to those deadzones.
The drills would be based on the those deadzones and those transitions.
Just like the drills you all ready focus on, using spiderweb as an example: Drill 1 would be caught in spiderweb. Drill 2 would be preventing transitions to spiderweb (ex. starting on your back preventing him from swimming to spiderweb)
I would follow this formula for each one of his deadzones and transitions to those deadzones.
If you want specfics I would have to go back and watch all the tape to see what he is doing exactly. However the one major flaw I see in his leg lock game imho is that he jumps too early on the sub before he has full control (think spider web without controling the legs). This would be something I would focus our gameplan on.
This response is all based on our time constraight, I wouldn't want to overwhelm my fighter with too many options (too many escapes and counters per position)
If I had a longer time period, as with my general students. My strategy is a tad different.
1)Escapes from Deadzones
2)Counter attacks from Deadzones
3)Escape during transition from Deadzone to Deadzone (lower to higher level of the positions of control)
4)Climb down the ladder of control (bringing them from a higher Deadzone to a lower Deadzone)
5)Escapes and Prevention of transitions to Deadzones
Sometimes i just want to drop everything and start walking toward Rochester.
You guys are always welcome ;)
I want video of leg lock escape flows, like warm ups :)
ok I'll get to work on it.
