To be honest, despite all of the confusion I have tried that choke from temporary mission control and the shoulder lock from mission control that's kinda like the carny, and I thought they were pretty technically sound. I do a lot of weird things in closed guard/ rubber guard that I've never seen anyone else do.
I just try not to say, show, teach, or make videos of things that I don't have TONS of proof for. If you're not ready to prove the validity of a technique or your rank or whatever it is then don't speak up about it. Especially not on this forum. It only accepts excellence. Only speak in honesty. That's my advice man.
To get this back on track.
How important is the foot on the hip, as important as with rubber guard? Without it, is anything stoping the being heavy/control on the leg pass to half/side?
Thank you. The foot on the hip is irrelevant. Only the angle matters. You need to get your hips completely out from under him. If he passes to half guard, a carny hook and a gogo are the answer. Otherwise, if your hips are still under him, even slightly, I would recommend a meat hook. This guard is useless unless you are completely at his side
What's stopping the guy on top from killing your angle by squaring you up? The other hand isn't monitoring the head. Vids of live roll pls.
See apology thread.
Except I was looking for an answer to my question, not some half ass retort.
Nope, Nope, Nope
