Sadly not the last time some one's tried to pitch me into traffic but nobody's come close to finishing the job since then. I can say for sure the System works on drunk guys, meth heads, psychopaths, speed freaks and jackasses, which is nice because I'd feel weird about slapping the 100% on kind sober people.
have been doing martial arts since i was 11, wrestled a year in high school.
among the people i had been training with, i was known as the squirrely flexible guy and somehow came across a video of eddie, ended up watching some more, and getting the books because the system was explained in a way that made sense to me. i wasn't interested in training with a gi on, and this seems like the natural progression for jiu jitsu.
a year or two goes by.
finally made the trek to 10th planet san francisco and got to experience Denny and Travis's teaching as well as the atmosphere and talent at the school and have been hooked ever since.
Was super interested in jits, was looking into it. Was flippin over one of my HT mags, came accross Joint Jitsu. Read about Eddie and thought "holy fuck, whole new meaning to roll n roll" Just kept hearing morpheus goin "Some see coincidence, I see Fate, Destiny"
So decided to get into jits, signed up at the local gracie gym. On my third day I asked them what they thought of Bravo and the Rubber Guard. This dude fucked up and said, "thats what them dudes do at that new gym accross town." Went home got on the pc and found the old ass 10thplanetjj site. The last location listed was in springfield mo. Called em up, and tuition was more expensive than I had been paying. This was going to require another couple of weeks before i could spend that kinda money. In the mean time i walk into a shop to grab some wraps and the dudes were wearing a 10th planet shirt. After some convo, turns out dude was involved with the gym and told me not to worry about the money difference. To get in there and get started, and worry about making it good in the future. As you can see several things just fell into place allowing me to find my way to the planet. Most folks tell of how they did jits, and 10thplanet jits opened them up to trying some more alternative life styles. My story actually runs oppisite. I was reading a HT and thats when I seen 10th planet Jits is nothing like Karate and taekwon do. Peaked my intreset and lead me down the path.
When I was in High school, I loved UFC and one Christmas my mom bought me MTRG. I seriously doubt she would have given it to me if she had read the introduction lol. That book started me on my Jiu Jitsu journey. I had never had martial arts introduced to me in such a laid back and candid way. I'm so glad I found 10th Planet, it's had a lot of positive affects on my life. :)
Someone sent me the "Royler Gracie Vs. Eddie Bravo Fight" on youtube, I was impressed by the 'unique' techniques that Eddie was using, so I bought the books and started working on the rubber guard.
whats 10th planet jiu jitsu?
through joe rogan's stuff think. in fact, dat guy put me onto a lot of things
I was looking for a way to learn how to defend myself and did some reading online. Unfortunately I am not close to a 10th Planet but I am going to jiu jitsu classes now. :)
Why that would be you, Ari. Or one of your videos that is.
