"training for 5 years you must have gotten "somewhat good" at least have a good understanding of bjj...don't worry about what belt you are, i maybe have wore my belt twice since i got promoted, i think number of years tell more that the color of the belt"

This, if you go buy no-gi competition rules, over three years = expert in most Org's.

Stories like this make me really grateful to be part of my school. It's great to have an open minded teacher.

You aren't really a sandbagger until you've wrecked the white/blue/purple belt division 3 years in a row at the same tournament, you train at a legit Jiu Jitsu school, and you still haven't received promotion. I have met a few of these guys and you don't seem like the type, Nelson. Ronin's aren't sandbaggers.

I got nothing against leg locks, but I like to be comfortable with the person i'm rolling with before it will start exchanging them. I can see some peoples point in not wanting to do them the first time they meet you.
