I hate myself knowing there was a time in my life that I didnt like Chael. That guy is quickly becoming my favorite.
While 151 had only one fight I wanted to watch, the headliner, Toronto is in for a treat I think. There's like six fights now that I want to watch from that card. Congrats to Toronto
Machidas out Vitor Belfort vs Jon Jones!!!! Its going down!!!!!!!!!
Belfort/Jones Machida/Jones, those fights do not interest me tbh. The whole situation is a huge mess. Although i prefer the Belfort fight of the 2.
There is no way you can defend Jon Jones here. You can say you understand his logic all you like but the fact remains, if you asked any other UFC champion/fighter to have fought to save the show, and the company millions, (except maybe Benson Henderson) all of them would have said 'yes sure'. He had a full camp preparation, NONE of his potential opponents had any camp at all. Also the potential opponents are from the weight division below him.
Jones fucked up. Lucky for him he is so good or he would be getting cut about now.
your obviously an iddiot ! i'm a jones fan so i stay loyal and could give a fuck if he fights chael or not. so i'm not jumping on his dick because i've been a fan since he fought bonner, i bet you never gave a fuck about chael until he fought silva the first time, so " who's the dick rider " ?
and your the only one making shit personal on this thread. your an obvious " iddiot & a dousche "
Speculation.
I doubt that of GSP, or Franky when he was the champ, and Bendo too of course.
This whole situation was a clusterfuck, and it was made worse by some of the names thrown at their as potential opponents.
This isn't some non title fight main event, you would be hard pressed to see champs wage their belt in a gamble when they have been training to fight one specific guy for the past few months.
UFC should of had a better back up plan, like a whole new main event
Jones didn't cancel the card, the UFC did.
They just want you to believe that this was solely Jones's decision, like he just said "hey, I wont take another fight, so cancel the whole card."
I totally agree with the UFC building a foolish card. They took a huge risk in hoping that neither guy would get hurt and it back fired. So in that respect I totally agree. But again, my thing is that the UFC made Jon Jones. There would be no Jon Jones without the UFC. He'd have no title to defend. He'd have no Bentley to crash. They sponsor him. They fast tracked him to the title. After everything they've done to help him (even with all the recent bad press surrounding his DUI), the least he can do is help them out when THEY are in a bind. Jones is not SOLELY to blame. But his decision definitely reflects negatively on him.
Yes the style matchup is different. But just like Jones said that Hendo has nothing that he hasn't seen, Chael has nothing that he hasn't seen either. This is a guy who ragdolls huge guys like Bonnar, owns stronger wrestlers than CHael (Think Hammil and Bader).
And i"m not a Chael fan or a Jones hater. I'm actually a huge Jones fan and have been defending dude for a long time. I just can't bring myself to defend this. If he were another guy....say JDS or even GSP, I wouldn't be too upset. But the UFC made this guy. The least he can do is be a good company man.

Thought this was interesting.
All the ufc did was give him a shot to prove himself, and he has.Quote:

Personal problems aside, he has the belt, and he earned it by going through to top of the 205 division.
He wasn't obligated to take the fight, so he really did nothing wrong.
It might be a shot at his character (as though anyone would give a fuck if they had more reasons to dislike him already), but he didn't do anything he couldn't do, so it's not his fault.
The ufc is responsible for the UFC.
They put so much faith in his star power alone, that they made a single fight main event, with no co main event to fall back on.
That is 100% their fault, and every has been saying how the UFC is coddling Jones and giving him a shit load of extra opportunities on the off chance that he will be their new golden boy.
I am just perplexed at how people aren't calling out the UFC for doing this, and laughing at how it's biting them in the ass now.
so many people thought this card was an insult, as though people will pay for anything simply because Jones is fighting on the card.
Well, they clearly had no faith in the rest of the fighters on that card, so the UFC canceled all their fights, and financially hurt them.
Not Jones.
And now Dana is in blame mode, acting as though this card falling apart is all Jones's fault, as though he made a weak card that relied on 2 fighters staying healthy up till fight day.
And all these guys saying a champ should fight anyone any time no matter what, well, why did Machida turn the fight down?
If it's anytime anywhere then why would a former champ turn down a fight with the current champ for any reason?
