I had a different understanding of what argument means that is more like debate but I see in the dictionary it can mean trying to persuade someone to a certain view as well. I think if your try to "force" a view on someones that beyond argument.
I was thinking, a coherent series of statements leading from a premise to a conclusion.
I guess arguing can be closed minded (if there's no way you can be swayed to the other side/you are closed mined on the topic). A lot of times I take a position that I really dont feel is the correct one (devils advocate) so that the debate can happen. That allows evidence to be presented and reason/logic supporting each side. Kinda like two heads are better than one.

If you believe the entire scientific community is part off some kind of worldwide conspiracy then their is no way to present evidence contrary to your point. Thats it you killed any kind of facts based debate.

Anyways my Anti-NWO internet activity has has landed me on watch lists with the RCMP and CSIS, simply because they don't like the fact that I was constantly exposing the New World Order agenda and the global conspiracy. All of it is real and all of it can be proven to anyone who is willing to take the (almost endless) amount of time required to pour over the historical documentation and piece the links together.
I don't give a shit either way. This forum is a Jiu Jitsu forum, and I am not here to argue with Kool-aid drinking CNN fans, or veteran shills who are pretending to be noobs, or anything of the sort. The proof is out there and I know because I have been digging into it for over 10 years.
