Starting really focusing on this outside high side clamp/topside ashi. Should be fun.
I noticed a lot more leg locks than usual at the sub only comp 2 days ago here in Ireland, a guy I was rolling with last week told me he got caught in a leg lock battle and he tried to push the foot off his hip but it was the other leg going over his leg instead (DOA). Great things to come from the Ronin guys in Ireland, I promise that.

So first issue I came across was that Smooth Criminal (pulling heel hook). It's a common counter attack from ashi but I typically just transition to DOA. If I do the same thing from topside ashi I end up in 5050. Not ideal. Going to play with foot placement to nip that in the bud.Quote:
