To me Gi BJJ is tough to watch anyway, most matches at least (but some are great), but this is just brutal

Guiness book of world record for longest footsies game ever played goes to...
What did I miss?
Obviously this wasn't the most entertaining match, but let's not blame it on the Gi. This match isn't all that dissimilar:

And keep in mind, this is Vinny M, 2011 ADCC champion, against Buchecha who just did WORK at the Worlds. They're in 50/50 for a long ass time, so anybody can get stuck in one position for a while.
Sorry, but I don't think this has anything to do with the gi. Two guys decided to play footsies for 10 minutes. I've seen it in the gi at both high and low levels, and I have seen it in nogi as well. Compare the Vinny v Buchecha video above to Rodolfo v Buchecha last week, and it will seem like gi is WAY more exciting. It's not, though, it's just that some matches are great, some suck.
If you find gi fights boring, target specific fighters who are consistently active. Watch Rafa Mendes, Ryan Hall, Marcelo, etc.
I agree with harry. It has nothing to do with the gi, put two leg lock specialists in there against each other, and most likely youre gonna get a match that isnt the most exciting. I love watching jiu jitsu with or without the gi, and sometimes its tough to keep my eyes open, sometimes i dont want to blink theres so much action.
Ya i have no prob with da GI, i just wasn't a fan of that match
