scabby scabs
just started rolling a couple of months ago and had to learn the hard way that fungal infections like staph n such like can b a problem.heard joe rogan talking about defence soap but after tracking down a supplier found out it costs around 5-6 dollars but costs around £30 to ship it here to scotland.any advice for me and i'm sure alot of other newbies about other options would b very welcomed.
thanx peeps.

Bleed on the vegetables not the mats. Avoid walking through thorn forests to prevent cuts that could get infected.
-
Defense soap is great in my opinion. I also use ABC Defensive products and have been very pleased.

Keith, you can buy Defence Soap from the following site, it costs £4.99 and the shipping is £1.99 to any UK address:
http://www.garrafightwear.com/produc...roducts_id=652
I've never bought anything from this place before so I can't verify the speed of delivery, customer service, etc, but it seems fine from what I can gather.

sweet mate, thanx.definately a much better option than shipping from the u.s.

The way I prevent shit is just long sleeve rash guards and some 10th planet grappling tights.
I've been rolling for over a year, and quite a few times on the high-school wrestling teams mats right after practice hah.
And haven't had any infection problems.

luckily for me i'm on fluacoxacillin permanently which kills staph so, hopefullyi won't have to worry about tat unless its mrsa, which would suck.

Like jeff said long sleves and grappling tights are great, if you throw the defence soap in you should be good ;)

Just practice normal good hygiene. Don't listen to Hollywood Joe and his BS on expensive soaps. Normal soap works perfectly, use it.

I heard that washing down with head and shoulders shampoo. works. Wish I knew that when I was wrestling in high school. More like a team of lepers. The main thing is to shower as soon as possible after getting off the mats and to wear clean training gear every day.
