Word on the street is Renato was walking in the gym, Eddie then scrambled to get a gi on, hence he forgot to tie a belt on. If Uncle Henatch was walking in your gym you bet your sweet ass you would put a gi on in his presence.
Yeah, I just saw that. Keith Owen push pushing this trash on Facebook. Eddie said that he wore it for a picture because JJ Machado asked him to. It isn't just misleading, its blatantly falsely labeled.
A crappy article from the prestigious "Jiu Jitsu Times" ?!
Reading that article was like having diarrhea squirted into my eyes.
I think the pro-gi folks should hate that article even more because of how horribly it tries to argue their position. Is this secretly one of us? Did we plant this?
Wow.
He needs to run a retraction article #falsepropaganda
That article is so poorly written.
I'm a pro gi guy and none of those reasons were legit or anything I've ever considered
He removed it after I made a comment. No acknowledgement or apology, though.
wow this topic seems to come up once every 2 wks by different organizations...:) Why it just doesn't die and go away? Well my take on it is this if you are a fighter, then fight. I know some like only Gi, some only No Gi, other like both. I guess I am training Cora to do both. Until recently she has basically fight No Gi style in the Gi and still doing ok. But now we added the Gi chokes to her game and I think she like it. We just want her to be out there, getting the mat time, the experience. She will fight in any format, whether it be Gi or No Gi, submission only, IBJJF or non-IBJJF event. IF we can afford to go to that event, she will do both. Can't imagine us traveling so far just to do one division. And besides, the more matches she gets, the more highlight videos. LOL
