There are some submissions at the end of the video that my white belt mind doesn't get, if ya'll could explain that would be great

That knee up in the middle sub (the first one), I saw that in a sambo video a long time ago (also in a jits mag). I think you get to hit that one time per person…if you’re lucky. Once someone gets caught with that…never again (from my experience anyway). Plus, to get that sub, you have to build space. When someone has you in their lockdown, they probably aren’t going to give you a lot of space, and if you force your way into creating the space needed to bring that knee up…they’re changing their path.
That second sub (the gi pant grab and gi sleeve grab). Never seen it before, but it looked interesting. May have to try a nogi version. Camera guy could have done a better job at getting an angle from the actual lockdown. Seemed legit though. Be interesting to see if anyone has a nogi version of this (with a better angle).
Well at least he got the lockdown right this time.
Btw that first move is called the Indian death lock.
All I can think of whenever I see Osiander's videos is that I would really, really, hate to roll with all that wet, glazed hair slapping my face.
LOL yes, that too. the hair is the insult to the pressure. I have a training buddy who's beard is getting ridiculously out of control, like Amish length. Last night, he had me under north-south and I shoot to do the roll back escape to take his back and, of course, he uses his head to try to pin me down. I inhaled about 23 beard hairs in that maneuver.
I have people try to do this to me all the time.
Free electric chairs.
Indian death lock that is.
Osiander is a legit gray belt
