If any of you are in the Chi for the UFC this weekend staying at or near the Hard Rock Hotel (downtown where UFC fighters generally stay), there's No-gi class at our academy which is about 2 blocks away @ 1 pm central time, 174 North Michigan ave. That's this coming Saturday. The night before, we got a striking for MMA seminar with Tareq Azim, Black belt under Jake Shields, also his head coach, and head coach of Ramsey Nijem (who's on the card) 5:30-7 PM, same location. Price for the seminar is $50, gloves are recommended but not mandatory, though there will be some available to purchase at a discount. Tareq's a wealth of knowledge, having trained extensively with Freddie Roach and a number of high level wrestlers and jiu jitsu guys. Joe Rogan's performing at the Chicago Theater at 8PM which is a couple blocks away, so no time conflict there. Tickets on Ticketmaster are going for $30-60, it looks like. Should be a sick weekend. Next best thing to PDX, imo.. Even if you're not down to train, feel free to stop by :)
