you guys think that dude is serious or just joking? -
"you can squeeze his testicles or bite his leg" lol - would like to douchebag a nice nike mark on his neck -chew on that...
lol na i think this dudes a real dickhead, just another backyard bruce lee by the looks of things, serious or not, made me laugh :) for a start 10th planet never claimed to be for the street, if anyting bjj for the streets should be for sweeps and to get out of headlocks etc so you can get back up before the guys mates kick u in the head while on the ground... and run like fuck lol, i think the bravo quotes/claims are "for mma" or "to make the guard just that little bit more high percentage in mma"
old news. we tackled this topic on the old forum.
How do you post an actual youtube video and not just the url link?
There's a movie strip above the comment bar. Click on that and past the Url on it.
If this is the street sifu, that guy came to my gym and my instructor showed him how he would tool him if he tried some of his JKD on a guy of my instructor's knowledge level. It's a pretty funny story when he tells it.
If i remember correctly Joe Rogan has said Wing Chun can work in mma if you find a guy thats good in other aspects of martial arts as well as great in wing chun.
We have to be careful of the source of any guy claiming to be a "Jeet Kune Do" guy. Because of a LOT of confusion, a LOT of people have claimed to be JKD guys without any real idea or training from a good instructor. A lot of guys mistake the movie choreography for what Si Jo Lee was all about.
Street fighting, tournament JJ, and MMA are all very different. Things I can/would do in a street fight differe greatly from what I'd do and am ALLOWED to do in a grappling tourney or MMA match. Now, training for MMA can help you prepare for a street fight, but some of the LAST things I'd do would be a shot for a single, Fighting from or pulling guard, and (sorry) using a lot of Rubber Guard. Especially if there were any weapons involved. Look, here's the reality-you don't engage to WIN a street fight, you engage to SURVIVE and get away. You can't control who's around you or who will jump you. There is no honor or one on one in it. You can't account for the drunk who just wants to hit someone. Your motivation should be stopping the guy long enough to get the Hell out of there. Period.
