But does he really deserve it when you think about the performance that Pettis put on ? After Pettis was told, you win this fight and you get a shot at the UFC belt ? Look what happened when they told Gray you win this next fight against Kenny and you get a shot at the belt. He lays on Kenny for 15 minutes and throws a couple elbows. We saw how Pettis performed after they told him he'll get the title shot if he beats Henderson. One of the most impressive performances ever and a high light reel kick that's still talked about.
I say Maynard had a fine fight, but he had his shot and didn't get the job done. Now he knows that decisions won't always go his way, maybe he'll become more aggressive and take chances. I'd rather him fight Ben Henderson and see who deserves the next crack at the champ. I'd pay to see Edgar vs Pettis. I don't know if I want to see Maynard Edgar again. It was a lot better than I thought it would be, but I'm ready to move on.

I think Maynard had his shot and failed, he didn't get lose a controversial decision, the decision is just, most people agree. why would we need to see Edgar vs Maynard again when Maynard just couldn't beat Frankie, sure he didn't lose but he didn't win either. An immediate rematch would probably give similar results, I say let Frankie fight Pettis and Gray fight whoever else so he can improve and then he might we might get a different outcome in the eventual rematch.
This is bullshit. Dana White needs to realize that people don't want to see the same dudes fight over and over. Especially when there is a contender like Pettis waiting in the wings.

I don't understand why he wouldn't get the rematch. You know gray has beat frankie before (ufc fight night 13) so another match only makes sense. I don't want gray to win I am an Edgar fan for sure, but Edgar has lost to gray once and got tied with him once, he ought to fight again for a clear win or lose. Either way we will get a series of exciting fights to watch
