what the heck is 93 guard.. and also, hear out the sweep ive been hitting like crazy
eddie has mentioned 93 guard a couple of times in MTS and i'm not too sure what he's referring to.. the only 93 guard i know is a robson moura gi half scissor guard.. is there a no gi variation of it that people are using? or is this 93 guard something else entirely?
he mentions 93 guard in ep5 during the butterfly sweep portion... and to tell you the truth, the real reason i made this thread was to tell you about this sweep that has been working wonders for me recently. in ep5, eddie said that he never goes to super stomp with double underhooks except if he traps their post, but i found another sweep from double underhooks super stomp that hasn't failed me yet.. it isn't too complicated though i don't recall seeing it anywhere else..
well here's the basic gist of the move...
get to the lockdown with double underhooks, get to super stomp, get that pimp arm strong against their free knee so that you've got one underhook plus a pimp arm.. now you simply just swim your leg curl out to kick off the ground while you use the pimp arm to push their free knee inside and lift them over with the butterfly hook at the same time. the underhook is the reason it works.
now i know what you're thinking, what about their arms posting out? the cool thing about this move, besides the fact that it's fast and unexpected, is that it can't be stopped by posting as easily as you'd think, because the pimp arm pushing their knee inside plus the butterfly hook takes away pretty much all the base in their legs.
i stumbled upon this jewel by chance, a bit more then a week ago, but iv been looking for it and hitting it quite often since then, its probably my favorite half guard sweep at the moment... let me know if I'm plagiarizing :D
