I like that ankle lock off the anaconda, pretty sick!
Damn. I wish I had seen this before practice today. I got my back taken, and I rolled to the weak side of the body-lock, but then I foolishly turned my chin toward my opponent's bicep. Had I seen this, not only would I have survived the choke, I would have turned the tables with the ankle lock.
The first time I ever seen somebody use the anaconda was Yves Edwards vs. Rich Clementi. We were asking him why you didn't see people do it more often and one of the things he mentioned was being a bad idea doing it on your back and showed this ankle lock.
But if you roll your opponent to their side first and then apply the anaconda/body lock it's harder for them to bridge over to the weak side of the lock. And even if they do manage to bridge to that side, you have enough time to release the lock, or even switch to the opposite side anaconda/body lock before they can trap the ankle.
Right, it just something to be aware of and the reason for the "conda switch" like you mentioned.
"Conda switch." That was the term I was looking for. Thank you.
Good stuff but so short! I was hoping for some vast amounts of Einstein wisdom
