Its great that Eddie and Denny manage to open the interviewers eye's to the 10th Planet system.

I know Eddie was trying not to name names, but I don't mind:

What Mundials champions have we had in the UFC?

Off the top of my head I can think of Roberto Traven, Fabricio Werdum, BJ Penn, Damien Maia...

Who else?

Eddie was particularly well spoken in this interview. He did a good job of explaining what 10th Planet is. I do wish he had mentioned that 10th Planet includes pretty much every jiu jitsu technique there is and that the syllabus is fluid and ever changing. At the end the interviewers seemed to be summarizing 10th Planet as being "jiu jitsu for MMA" but I look at 10th Planet as an all inclusive style of jiu jitsu where nothing is really banned and any technique that appears to work is added to the system.

The part of the interview that really drove me crazy though was when Denny mentioned being jumped by a Gracie, and the interviewers didn't ask for details. Very frustrating...

First off we want to give a huge thanks to Denny and Eddie for taking the time do to the interview. They had a packed schedule with the tournament and spending time with Marcelo. We really appreciate their support.

One of our goals is to try and create an open discourse regarding grappling. We realize that 10th Planet tends to have a polarizing effect on a lot of the bjj community. We wanted to give Eddie and Denny a chance to address some of the criticism that they have received in the past. They are both extremely articulate and more than capable of expressing the philosophy and principles behind 10th Planet. We may have missed a big opportunity with not following up on Denny's fight with Charles Gracie. Denny knows he is always welcome on the show. Next time we have him on we would love to delve more into his history and cover more of his personal efforts. We could easily have done another 3 hours of recording and not come close to running out of topics. Our priority in this interview series was to provide Eddie and Denny more of a platform to discuss 10th Planet. We tried to balance that aspect of the interview with some more personal elements as well.

Thanks again to Eddie and Denny for their support. We hope you guys will enjoy part 2.

Cool to have you guys on the forum. I enjoyed the interview you did with Paul Schreiner from Marcelo Garcia where I train. One thing you do well is giving the interviewees a chance to actually speak without being rushed. (Hell, Denny went on for like 15 minutes answering the first question ;))

Great interview btw. Judging from the reaction and reiterations from the interviewers, I had no idea how ignorant people were about the 10th planet system. Geez. A lot of it really is just straight up blind hate and "well my instructor says" type BS. Crazy. Can't wait to hear pt 2.

It's great to be here. We're really glad you like the show. I know we're new to the forum but so far it looks great.

We have an Expert's Corner with Eddie that will be coming out in the future. I'll be sure to post it here.

We really appreciate all the support we have received. We are trying our best to get the grappling and MMA community to move away from name-calling drama and more towards an open discourse discussing the sport/martial arts we all love. Of course the majority of people aren't alarmists or extremist but there are those folks out there.
