Why no music at HQ?

Music plays at Marcelo Garcia's academy during the 15 minute warm up drills and during the 30 minutes of rolling of every class. It has a huge impact on how much I love being there. Doesn't matter whether new hip hop is playing, classic rock or Portugese language heavy metal (courtesy of Henrique)...it's all good to me.

10th Planet HQ has a true rock and roll vibe...very casual with little, if any at all, formality so it seems a natural that music would be blasting during the rolling sessions. I get why there is no music playing at a traditional academy like the Gracie Academy, but I'm baffled as to why its not there at HQ.

Any theories?

I didn't know that. Music plays while we roll at 10th planet Rochester.

Tunes are cranked at 10th Planet Peterborough. Mostly metal or Hip hop.

Classic Hip-Hop Pandora flows from Chicago North.

The Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and Chili Peppers are always cranked in Montreal. G in a Gi gets some play as well.

Justin Beiber, Spice Girls, Hanson, Milli Vanilli, Jonas Brothers, the Pokemon battle song, and the Power Rangers theme song. If that's not epic training music, I don't know what is.

Im not sure Eddie would dislike music while rolling but it definitley isnt cool at the beginning of class while hes talking and giving instruction I dont think its so much of him not approving of music while rolling as it is no one is requesting it to be played while rolling. At or moon in Vista music is always in the background with the exception of while instruction is going on but for me personaly it dosent make a difference either way. Every time we make it out to HQ on Tuesdays its excitment enough for me.

When i roll I tune out all outside noise. We do have music playing but I never notice it

I live in NYC and make it out to HQ once a year at best. I'll be there May 30 and 31 and very much looking forward to it. I'm coming in for the World's Tournament.

I say it like that so it sounds like I'm competing in the tournament rather than just shooting it ;)

We usually bring in our own MP3 and hook it up to the gyms stereo, turn it down during technique. The worst is when Blake B. brings in his ROCKY anthem music and then proceeds to whoop your ass ,lol.
