How can i convince my mom?

When i go train with Scott einstein, I can only train for around 1 hour because my mom has to wait for me to finish. I rarely get a chance to roll with other people and I told her that she can leave because Scott will give me a ride home. But she flips out and tells me that she can't trust him because it's late at night and doesn't know him. I don't want her to wait for me because I already know she's stressed out from work, but I also want to train more because there's no point in learning techniques if I can't roll with people

Introduce her to him gain her trust

Take her to a family therapist who is really a professional hypnotist that you've paid ahead of time to hypnotize her into to leaving you there longer.

Dude it's fucking Scott Einstein Epstein how much safer do you have to be in West LA. Tell her fact like he's a pro fighter and can read War and Peace in three hours... in complete darkness.

Sounds like a good start.

Communication is important, young brother. Parents react to sincerity more than whining/complaining. Not saying you do that, but most younger people tend to have that habit. Just tell her that this is your biggest passion. You want to get better. Ask her what compromise you guys can make. Can she come later? Even if it's only a half hour. Can you negotiate something with her? Extra chores? Learn how to cook your own meals so she doesn't have to? I don't know if you're a momma's boy, but maybe bribe her with a foot rub. Haha.

Simply put, talk it out with her. Paint a clear picture for her that this is more than a hobby for you (I'm guessing it is, right?) Parents usually love their kids and want to see them happy. Be sincere and try to work something out with her.

She said maybe like way later. I live 3.9 miles from 10th planet west l.a so it is time consuming and costs some decent gas money for my mom. But as of right now, she told me she'll just give me a ride.

Whisper Einstein is not dangerous in her ear while she is asleep. Hopefully she wont hear it as Einstein is insane to us or Einstein is so fabulous. That could cause some more issues

3.9 miles? I guess things are different out there. That's like a 5 minute drive around my parts. Traffic must be nuts out there.

3.9 minutes is only12-15 minutes on a bike

I'd say have Scott meet ur Mom too, and then allow them to talk in private, then wait a week and see how she reacts. If that doesn't work I think it might be a situation where u need to wait it out on her for a bit and then later on she may have second thoughts and allow u to stay later then. Does she drop u off there to begin with (like she comes home from work, drives u over, then waits/shops for an hr and then wants to go home right at end of class)?

No if my mom drops me off and goes back home then comes back again to pick me up, that's already like 12 miles. I also have curfew cause I'm a minor.

I have a student that rides his bike to the gym everyday. Maybe that is an option. Or explain to the P's that this is really important to you and hopefully they will support you on it. Good luck

Jason, if I were in your shoes I might do the following:

Sit down with my mom, calmly and sincerely tell her that I love her and that I understand how hard it is for her to juggle work, drive me to and fro, and deal with all the millions of other things on her mind.

I would tell her that I want both of us to be happy - as happy as we can be, as often as possible, because life is short. I can't be happy if I don't follow my passion, mom, and if I approach jiu jitsu in halves, I won't make progress.

I have a wonderful mentor and friend, he's a man I look up to and his name is Scott. He'd like to meet you so you can feel what kind of person he is. He's one of the best grapplers in the world and he's offered to take me under his wing and even drive me home.

Pay for gas then. Unless your mom's car is getting 12 miles to the gallon then you should be able to afford it. If shes not waiting around then I guess I dont understand why she doesnt just come to get you a little later. If its because its passed your curfew then theres nothing you can do about it

well thanks for the advice's. I'll try to work out something with my mom.

Just tell her look would you rather have me training in a controlled environment off the streets staying out of trouble under the supervision of adults, or running wit a band of crackheads slanging stolen tv's throwin up my set like I dont giva what!!!!!!! hahaha Hope it all works out for you.
