I made this in hopes to prove that I am ready to take the next step in my career and become a blue belt!!! I would really appreciate feedback as always. If I should make any changes, edits, or add anything please let me know!!

Great stuff. Love the escape from North South around the 1 min mark. You need a lot of flexibility to pull that one off.
Reel was sweet bro. I know it's a highlight reel, but if you want to use it for a grading your coaches can learn a lot from your losses as well.
Are you showing us your highlight reel because you kicked ass or asking Eddie to grade it for blue? I'm confused.Quote:

we're all excited and anxious to get our blue belts. if you already train at a gym i would keep putting the work in and wait for your instructor to give it to you. if you think you're that close to blue im sure he is noticing.

My mount is fair, as well as side control... but nothing i can dominate from as well as from guard. All my competitions end up in guard because i suck at wrestling and it's so much easier to jump guard and be dangerous. My coach wanted me to redo this highlight video so i'm making another one that's a little longer because i've put more matches, but shortened the lesser important items, and has a soundtrack vs the background noise to all the matches.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone! In regards to the petitioning for the blue and having my coach promote me... My instructor wanted me to make this, he and i have planned on letting Eddie decide if I'm ready to be a blue belt when we go down to HQ next week. We've been planning this trip for some time now and I made this video because it's getting closer to the time.
Personally I wouldnt make a promotion video. I never asked and will never ask to be promoted. That's for my coach to decide
I would like to end any potential drama on this thread... Josh might have not chosen the words perfect. He is NOT petitioning for a belt, bla bla bla. I asked Josh to put up his matches on a HL because I am excited about what he has accomplished since he started and we are coming to HQ next week to prep for the Gracie Worlds, and I wanted people to have a chance to see him roll. Just out of camraderie. Nothing different. So please, it was not the intent to cause confusion or drama.

I have met Josh a few times and the kid has been nothing but awesome on the mats and humble any time I have talked to him. I dont have any doubt in my mind, Josh, that you are competing at a blue belt level. I honestly thought you were already a blue.

It took me over four years to get my blue (moved to different cities often, didnt train in the gi at a school where it was manditory for promotion, etc), so trust me, i know what its like to be anxious for a promotion! Lol
But bottom line, it's like Mr Miyagi said: "Belts are to hold your pants up. You know you are good, that's the important part!"
Dnt get me wrong, it feels great to be recognized by your instructor and to feel part of the team! Just dont make earning a promotion the main reason for training. ;)
I would like to apologize for any confusion I have caused... I'm very sorry to appear as if I was trying to convince anybody that I deserve a promotion, as I understand that I have no say in that matter. My instructor, RW Pegau, wanted me to post this video to show how much I've improved. I have miss-worded my posts and I am terribly sorry for causing any problems or disagreements. My whole goal with posting this video was to impress my fellow 10P members and to show my accomplishments and improvements over the past couple years. Again I apologize for any confusion. Good luck to everybody competing at Gracie World's and I can't wait to train with everyone at HQ next week!!
