Just watched some old Rickson videos, and just got me thinking if there will ever be another Gracie like him that will be able to be a UFC champion one day. Maybe a Great, Great grandson will carry the name to the top again. What do you think?

The closest they got is Roger Gracie right now...and maybe Ralek if he stayed in the game. Ryan was a beast that had the best shot of being well rounded, unfortunately he passed away.
Roger is slick, but the standup, though much improved isn't up to it I think. But he's so good on the ground, can't count him out!
Ryan.. The heart of darkness.. That guy just scares me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqY5smfTbF8
Just watched the vid. Wait, what? Ryans dead? :( How'd that happen??
If a gracie is born that is willing to shed the gracies only weakness, pride, and train standup as much as he trains bjj, then yes. It will happen eventually. Until then, the gracies won't be on top.
Ryan loved smashing people any way he could, my old jitz coach was a black belt under him and said he loved his family but fought for himself..Ryan Gracie did not give a fuck.
Ryan was legit psycho. There was a PRIDE fight where he was being repositioned in center ring, and Ryan was getting crazy looking like he was about to fight the ref.
No
never say never the next gracie ufc champ may not have even been born yet if its gonna happen they will have to train in standup not just fighting off of your back
maybe Roger gracie but thats a big maybe. The gracie name holds alot of clout in the bjj world and always will but MMA has evolved so much since the days of early MMA. For all we know there is a young up and coming gracie who could be well rounded enough to reign over a tittle.
NO!
I don't think you can say that no Gracie could possibly make it to the top ranks of the UFC again. This sport isn't going anywhere and there are tons of Gracies being brought up training since before they could walk so I'm sure one day there will be a Gracie who makes it to the top again. I don't know if it's definitely going to happen, or even if it's probable, but to say it's not possible is absurd. It's definitely possible. I hope it happens, the more we can prove to the world that jiu jitsu works at the highest level of MMA the better. I AM, however, willing to go out on a limb and say that any Gracie who does make it to the top ranks will inevitably have to understand and be able to execute 10th Planet technique because you and I both know that 10th Planet is THE style of jiu jitsu for MMA. We need more Aokis, Sotiropouloses, and Magalhaeses! WAR Vinny, he's the next in line to show the world the brilliance of Eddie Bravo!
