You Can't be in love with her, because I'm in love with her...
Shit just got real. o.o
yes we know she can arm bar, but honestly i want to see something other that jab-jab-shoot-armbar, which is the exact same shit we have seen in ALL 6 of her fights. Not really her fault i guess and tbh you don't get paid for overtime. I thought the Tate fight was better though. Certainly slightly more competitive anyway. :-)
TBH i expect strikeforce will sell the Rousey Tate rematch first, then after persistent moaning from fans we may see a Rousey Cyborg superfight. Doesn't sound like Tate wants a Ronda rematch anytime soon though. She is saying she doesn't feel like she deserves it etc.
Dana is right tbh, there aren't enough female fights out there to peak interest. Ronda only has right now 2 more people that will be real big fights (financially) and that is Cyborg and of course Carano. However Carano is not on their level. It is her fame that would sell that fight though.
Pretty sure Ronda will have had a whole bunch of rematches before her career is done. :-)
e2a - problem is rematches are hard to sell when the first matches were so one sided. :-)
As good as she is, her spiderweb can still get better. Ever see guys almost roll out against Eddie? Nope, he grabs the leg and uses arm crush to force arm bar.
She does Judo, sambo and 10P, whats not to love. I agree, Spider Web!
Grabbing the leg in Spider web might just be new to her and not be completely comfortable using it in high level competition yet. Or have a lower percentage with it compared to what she is already used to doing. A lot of memories go out the window when your adrenaline is pumping, especially the new ones. Would be awesome if Eddie asked her for MTS how long she has been using the swim move and grip break she usually uses
I like the quick armbar finishes. I say if it aint broke, dont fix it, just have something else ready in case something doenst work out. I would think it would be harder to finish all your fights the same way when people know exactly what you want to do. Its hard enough just to finish people when they dont know what you want to do
Also noticed Meisha Tate going to the deep hook arm bar transitions to finish her fight. Wonder if she picked it up from studying Honda
Well regardless if shes not going to the perfect spider web she still has a 100% first round armbar rate as a mixed martial artist..Maybe she could have finished it quicker but shit shes still finishing it. As soon as Rousey laid her hands on Kaufman, Kaufman didnt stand a chance. Great game plan great finish
Nothing to criticize about her. Simply amazing.
Stack, Swim move, Stack, Swim move, Stack, Swim move, damn thats some smooth shit ! Ronda & Giva santana are the armbar Asassins
I agree she is amazing but I think you always have to look for ways to get even better. There is always another level to hit. I work for Mercedes Benz and we have what we call a "Continuous Imporvement" team. We have been building cars for over 100 years and are still are finding ways to do it better. I think it takes somewhere around 7000 reps before you can add something new to your game (so its instinctive in a fight). So nothing wrong with sticking with what got you there till you hit that number.
people are saying she needs more shit. but when you master a piece of technology like that were no matter the counter someones fucked. then best believe an artist like that has a bunch of shit & can easily add more. every jiujitsu player has there go to shit. & every technique has various levels & Ronda has the armbar masterd. & no one can stop it, so no need to see the other sickness to her game
Is this a statistic you saw somewhere? If so, I'm interested in the source.Quote:

Ive had instructors say 10,000 times
I gotcha.Quote:

I like to think of how many times I've tied my shoes and how well I can do that. Most tech is not anymore complicated. I once asked Denny about when we will start to see RG and twisters in the UFC. He told me that the guys at the top are going
to stay with what got them there. I would think though that it would need to be close to perfect to catch Cyborg. I'm sure she has
defended plenty down in Brazil.
I like the fact that she sticks to the same formula and wins each time. I prefer to see masters rather than jacks of all trades. Jacks of all trades are usually mediocre at all of them. I can't think of a single jack of all trades champion in the UFC. Usually it's a master of one, excellent at another, and efficient knowledge of the rest. And you see a lot of guys with tremendous potential fail because they abandon their bread and butter in favor of something else. Maia and Gonzaga for example. But on their come backs when they say they're going back to their grappling roots, they dominate. So I wouldn't want Ronda to try and prove anything other than the fact that her judo is just better.
Usually I say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. But with Cyborg she may want to work spiderweb. Have you seen Cyborg rolling with tito? He got a triangle and she picked him up Matt Hughes style. Ronda will NOT wanna get stacked by Cyborg.
She won't be aided by fucking bull hormones this time around. Everyone else fought a dude with boobs. If Cyborg leaves an arm out there just for a micro second and Ronda snatches it, she will just start to trying to survive before that arm gets taken home with Ms. Rousey :)
