My Experience with Royce Gracie
So over the weekend I went to my first seminar which was run by Royce Gracie. It was a 2 day seminar 3 hours per day. He did 30 mins of self defense 2 hours of BJJ techniques, and 30 mins of rolling at the end. At first I was very nervous when he watched me execute some of the techniques... I would go fast to show him I understood it but would often mess up during the first few drills because I was going too fast which He didn't have much patients for, telling me to just go very slow as he wants the correct technique not speed. After that the rest of the seminar both days was very smooth and fun. He is good friends with the purple belt (Warren) who runs it... They go to Disneyland together and everything. After Saturdays seminar we were all invited to warrens house for a BBQ and drinks. While Royce was in town he stayed there so he was at the party with about 30 of us. He's a really great guy but somewhat intimidating. He has that look about him.. But hes jusy a regular guy whos easy to talk with. He showed a video of him shooting wild bores out of a helicopter with an AR...I think it's up on YouTube. We all got together to watch the Strikeforce card aswell. So all in all it was a great experience and glad I can say I've been to a house party with Royce Gracie :) if any of you get the chance to go to one of his gi or no gi seminars I think it'll be well worth for you!
