As an interesting side note in the Dog Brothers style: they brought in the Machados back in the early 90s to improve their ground game, and it was quickly discovered that a determined BJJ player with a basic understanding of the Flying Roof could close and tap just about anyone.
That was the biggest eye opener (even more than UFC) that started my Kali instructor on adding the ground game to the curriculum, and the genesis of my own journey with grappling.
I still have the fencing helmets, sticks, and gloves from when my Kali school was open. We used to call is "insanity rules stick fighting" :)
All I can picture is Eddie watching this video & hearing "ohhhhh shit" or " Daaaaayyuumm" They need Eddie to ref!

The concept is one of "steel sharpens steel" rather than of a competition. No points no, decisions, no records kept other than the number of fights and gatherings you step up for. It is about making each other stronger, and better through mutual combat.
The Dog Bros have a really neat neo-tribal ideology that is worth looking into as a martial concept even if you have no plans to take a rattan stick to the dome.
