It's funny. When I try to explain my love for grappling to anybody I usually use a skateboarding analogy. I sucked at skating but grappling reminded me of skating, for me, its more about me executing my moves the best I can off of my opponent's actions. In a way, they are the medium, they are the skateboard.
I don't have a single competitive bone in my body but just the realization of my moves, is my only motivation.
