10th Planet Decatur Comp Weekend (VIDEOS)

Our guys competed on back to back days at NAGA Nashville on Saturday and then at a Sub Only tourney on Sunday. I'm super proud of the results.

We had 3 guys that competed on both days (Sam Davis, Manny Rocha, and Cody Koch), and between the 3 of them they fought 21 matches, won 4 Golds, 1 Silver, and 1 Bronze.

At the Sub Only tourney on Sunday there were 5 divisions. We took Gold in 4 of them and Silver in the other.

That was awesome. It was cool to be able to hear you coaching them through it.

I really liked the way Ziggy shrimped to get that angle on the arm triangle. Reminds me of how Braulio Estima finished his arm triangle in his MMA debut, except she did it from guard. Is that adjustment the right way to do it from guard? Or is that a personal twist you add to the submission?

Ziggy hits that all the time. Getting to that angle will keep the opponent from escaping the lock as easily.

Personally, if I get to that position I will check the arm triangle. But if I feel like it's gonna be too much effort I'll move on to the back.
