Compression Shorts and Super(Grappling)Powers

:p Hi folks,

Just joined the boards and I'm about to rejoin 10th Planet Montreal later today so I'm taking the opportunity to say hi to you folks.

When I wear gi pants and MMA shorts people always grab on to that shit and as far as I know (or do I?) it is illegal to do so in tournaments. What do you do when people grab your clothes? Does anybody wear compression shorts to counter this annoying behavior?

To celebrate my first day back I'll be wearing a ridiculous pair of tight purple shorts that supposedly make you an amazing grappler according to GSP in this season's Ultimate Fighter.

Thoughts? Stories?

I don't know about it making you a better grappler, but I came from the gi background and tried just the pants for a while until I invested in the Badboy Vale tudo fight shorts. OH MAN they are sweet. I think they are better for over all support for the business items. Now thats all I wear in training anything from Jiu-jitsu, wrestling, Muay Thai, and sometimes when I go to pick up stuff at the store.

I like Under Armour "Coreshorts". Good for us with bad backs and I don't catch my nuts when I do armbars anymore. On that note, I hate when guys wear cups and grind your arm during armbars...

I wear gi pants and compression shorts, you get used to people grabbing your pants it doesn't effect you when you get used to it.
But I think you should rock those purple bad boys it make people hate triangles ;)

compression shorts invented jiu jitsu. I wear them under my other shorts so as not to get the queers excited.

I wear compression shorts under gi pants the vast majority of the time. Whenever anybody grabs my gi pants I just say something like: "You know you can't do that in competition, right?" and they always let go. And yes, I believe the compression shorts add at least another five points of badassitude; more if that's all you wear. I don't have the butt for that though...

Wear the 10th planet tights under board shorts if you can't deal with dudes grabbin pants :)

Mr. Fantastic Shawn Murphy's purple tight shorts are quite the hit at 10th Planet Montreal. He intimidates some of the other students with his shorts. It really highlights his fat ass, and doesn't leave much to the imagination. :)

Ouch... My self esteem. Just so everyone knows! Louis specifically requested that I wear them ;-) He's into that.

Compression pants (tights) work real good under shorts.

compression shorts work good but every time i have them on for longer that 15 min my nuts feel like they are going to blow up. i got so bad when i was playing football i had 2 go 2 the dr because i thought i had a hernia

i only wear compression shorts. they hold my cup in place. peoples toes dont get caught in them, and they dont creep down your thighs playing guard. wrestling has it right with spandex
