Best 10th planet location for tourists

I'm thinking about heading over to the states for some training and could use some advice!
What would be the best location in your opinion in terms of the following:

Quality of instruction
Most amount of classes available
Ease of travel from the nearest airport to the town/city
Low cost and availability accommodation near to academy
Places to eat, public transport etc..

I would be flying from Glasgow, probably via London depending on the City and although I am willing to spend several weeks training, I don't have money to burn like most of us..I have a family and bills to pay but have some redundancy money and am willing to invest but would like the best results for the money spent ;)

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!!!

Rochester ny is pretty decent.

Rochester was first to come to my mind as well simply because of Herzogs alluring mutil-discipline grappling knowledge. My instructor, Nick Kukuruza, (not 10P) said for highly technical and well broken down instruction, Denny Prokopos (SanFrancisco) would be a great pick. Any areas your looking to improve specifically? Also I haven't done much flying but it maybe much cheaper to stick the east coast?

Might be worth considering that in southern cali or in the bay area you would be able to visit multiple schools and not just 10Planet or even BJJ

Thanks guys...Aaron its purely 10th planet I want..I am basically thinking of shedding the gi and focusing on 10th pjj so it like a conversion. Even though I am a Purple with the gi I have no experience in No Gi. I rolled no gi recently at a sister gym to mine and tbh... I had my arse handed to me which made me question the last 3 years of training!!!

If your a purple in the gi you should change your rank here on the forum. If your a BJJ purple belt that carries over to the 10th planet system. I say if all you wanna focus on is 10th planet go to california and learn from Eddie himself. If not Go to NY to 10th Planet Rochester. if not NY go to 10th Planet Phoenix in Arizona. :cool: Any knowledge gained from Master Eddie, Master Zog, Or Master Botello is priceless!!!!!

Anyway..thanks for the advice...I have been looking at flights/accommodation...flights are basically good for all locations above but for hotels LA looks better in terms of price and variety! I'm going to look at hostels tonight so if anybody knows of a 10th planet gym with a hostel near by please let me know ;)

Come to Montreal. We are a hub of Jiu Jitsu and MMA. No hick town here. In this city, there's BTT HQ, and Tristar, and a lot more. Plus we have a crazy night life, if you're into that.

Hahaha...thanks Louis....I do have family in Vancouver Island so that could be an option? Really just looking for training as much 10th pjj so won't be visiting the night life unfortunately. Another time bro ;)

Indeed! Good town, good group of guys ;)

But I think LA probably wins on the Bravo factor. Plus a high volume of training sessions and numerous people to roll with. The massive number of moons around HQ makes for a nice bonus: West LA, Burbank, Van Nuys, Costa Mesa, Riverside and Vista are all within a 100 mile radius (though I know the OP seems concerned about travel, so that may not really be a plus)

San Francisco..Denny is here and everything else pretty much speaks for itself. You will never want to leave.

go to southern california, you can train at about 6 10th planet schools all within about 1.5 hours drive.

you can also hit all the tourist attractions and the beach.

you will get the most for your time and money in socal...

The selfish side wants you to visit Chicago, but the cost effectiveness/most training will probably be HQ. The amount of moons like everyone said is unreal and you can always find a place to train. If I were you, I'd go train with Eddie, and those guys out in So Cal.

Winnipeg, it's flat cold and covered with snow 8 months a year, perfect for cross country skiing. Plus if you like action and thrills the crime rate is through the roof just walk around downtown with your cell phone out and you can live tweet a mugging just like Renso.

Just a heads up, the majority of hostels in the US are not up to European standards. I know some hostels in Europe are not exactly the Hilton but believe me the average hostel in the states is worse, with the occasional exception. San Francisco has probably the best hostel in California. San Diego as well then Hollywood, distant third, but the chance of having to punk some greasy fucker is pretty good in Hollywood because of the "homeless" kids. (I prefer a double leg and bury your shoulder into the solar plexus or suplex, really lets a bitch know where they stand without getting filthy blood on you)

Some of them have a place where you can lock your stuff, if they dont I wouldn't leave it there. Also travelers sheets and anything that puts a barrier between you and parasites is a must.

Lol So Cal is the only answer. You have 7 moons in driving distance! including HQ. And warm weather.

Any moon is going to provide you great instruction. Every moon is gonna be in a place you've never experienced. You'll be in good hands wherever you choose.
If you're gonna be in the states for a week, one location is good. However, let's say you were to stay for a month... Socal offers a good concentration of 8 moons. You could practically go spend a day a week at each of them and learn totally different techs at each. But that's super aggressive.

Thanks very much guys..although Winnipeg sounds awesome....its sounds to similar to home...I think LA sounds like the best option! Maybe for more than 2 weeks though....thanks for all your advice!!!
