Spread the WORD
So yesterday while on route to the gym, Cora had told me something that really shocked me. She told me "dad, ever since you found 10thplanet and the rubber guard, it changed my life". I was shocked as we weren't even talking about this and she just brought it up. I ask her why she say that? She said " I was good before with the triangle, but now with the rubber guard, I don't think anyone can stop me." I was even more shocked at when she said that as I never hear this kind of confidence coming from her before. So when we got to the gym, she was wearing her yellow 10thplanet t shirt, her coach see it right away and said, "Cora do you know Eddie Bravo?". Cora replies "yes, he's my idol." I had to stop myself from laughing. He then asked where she get the t shirt? she said "from a friend on 10thplanetJJ.com". Then the coach tell Cora that he too know Eddie and that they even hang out and that Eddie is a very funny guy, etc etc. THen another girl come up to Cora and ask what is that 10thplanet on your shirt? Cora told her, "just go to 10thplanetJJ.com and you will know". So in her own way, Cora is already promoting 10thplanetJJ...:)

Oh, kids are going to start visiting the forum? I'll make sure to edit myself. Hahah.
But that's awesome man. I really hope that my little girl enjoys BJJ. But man, I'm thinking, if she's training RG from childhood, she might be right! Nobody will be able to stop her! Hahaha. Awesome post man. It's always cool when the kids love what they do.

Yes brothers, you see I always believe that kids are the future and what better way to spread the word about 10thplanetJJ than having kids involve also? I mean kids are naturally flexible right?? To me, I think kids are more able to adapt to this system faster than grown men because they don't even know what they don't know. You have a clean slate with them and 8 out of 10 kids already have the flexiblity to jump right into the rubber guard, etc etc where as a grown man will have to spend months just to get his flexiblity to even try the rubber guard. I know I'm new to all of this, I'm just so surprise why other parents or coaches don't teach them the rubber guard. If nothing else, just the rubber guard. I did try to search youtube for any kids pulling the rubber guard, but there weren't that many to be found. I guess this is why I flood my youtube channel with anything related to 10planetJJ because I am sold on the sytem.

I am honored to have such a talented little girl look up to me, it's pretty damn surreal. Cereal. Even tho I try my hardest to give kids the right life advice whenever I talk to them, I feel like my rated R lifestyle will turn some parents off.
So when I hear things like what Cora said, it makes me feel proud but at the same time I have to admit, I am always preparing myself mentally for alot parents to be turned off by my stance on the marijuana legalization movement, my explicit life stories on my podcast and my vulgar language.
If I produced movies I would produce Hangover/Scarface/Freddy Got Fingered/Pulp Fiction type movies, not Disney-ish movies that star The Rock. That's just me, that's me just trying to keep it real, for real real, not pretend real.
I know that's gonna turn alot of parents off, and like I said, I have always prepared myself for a backlash so when I hear these stories of kids looking up to me, it really makes me feel amazing, it makes me feel like the parents of the these children understand my need to keep things real real, not rated G real.
Every time I teach a seminar and a parent has driven hours so that his kid can attend my seminar, that is super duper extra mad special for me because I know the parents are not trapped inside the media box and can think for themselves, and I always try to make sure I leave a positive message for these kids, something ultra meaningful, something that I think they will carry into their adult life.
I'm in a crazy weird position. I always thought I would only be making music, making music for adults, so I wouldn't have to worry about how I influenced children, but BAM, here I find myself in a position where kids are looking up to me because of my jiu jitsu.
In other words, I am just trying to do the best I can, I thank you all tremendously for understanding that I mean no harm, I only want peace, happiness and fun and alot of times that includes "adult" themed subjects and activities. I love children, my son is the light of my life, but I must also be my true self, a wild crazy mutha fucka :)

Agreed. Thats why I also look up to you Master Eddie, because regardless of who is around or what people think your you no matter what. You dont put the mask on to hide yourself your just who you are. Thats why you inspire everyone. 10thp to me isnt only about jiu jitsu, its about real people being real together! Real people make IDEAS and in the words of V for Vendetta "Ideas are bullet proof!" 10P4L!

You know on the bball court.... we always say "real recognize real". I guess this is why I tend to gravitate toward Master Eddie because I'm just like him, real. Everybody isn't perfect and I for one am not the type to try to live up to someone else standard. I'm going to be me...Bruce. And thank you Master Eddie for taking the time on this thread.
