So I'm entering my first competition April 6th I was told by a friend it might not be the best choice seeing as though a lot of the guys there will be predominately judo practicioners. But I'm not one to back down from a challenge! Does anyone have any tips I should take in when it comes to going against judo guys!

If you're going against some Judo guys, I'd learn how to take a fall properly if you dont know already.

Against a Judo guy probably stay as low as you can and try to bring the fight to the ground as soon as possible.
By the way, on 10th planet schools what is the policy regarding judo black belts and their bjj rank? Do they start with a blue belt?

Use the 3rd option and pull guard and practice lots of breakfalls
I spar with judo blackbelts some can translate there throws to no-gi some cannot.
They wont be the best on the ground but there base will be solid.

In this vein, Just adding my two cents (please feel free to correct me):
I. Stance: In Judo, standing with a "bent-over" stance is frowned upon. (The stance is similar to what a freestyle wrestler would adopt.) In most Judo tournaments, maintaining such a stance for 10-15 seconds gets you negative points. Thus, "Judo-Guys" are not used to such a stance while sparring. Feel free to adopt it (just go over the rules of your tournament).
II. Attacks to the legs: About 8-10 years ago, all direct attacks to the legs, while standing, have been deemed against the rules of Judo. Thus, most Judo guys dont know how to defend a wrestling shot, single or double. Feel free to practice these beforehand.
III: Leglocks/Kneebars: Additionally, in the last 8 years, any kinds of footlocks/heelhooks/knee-bars have been deemed against the rules of Judo. Thus, even when a fight goes to the ground, the chaps with a Judo Background do not foresee these attacks. Feel free to work on these in advance.
IV. Gi vs No-Gi: As goes without saying, most "pure" Judo Guys will stick to the Gi divisons. Choosing the No-Gi division will aid you in circumventing any possibility of facing them. Furthermore, as they are taught, most judo throws do not translate well into No-Gi. If a Judo Guy can translate his Judo Throws into No-Gi: he's pretty advanced and he's a Gecko-Roman wrestler, in essence.
V. Most Importantly, if this is your first competition, please have fun. Hell, even if you've competed before, go ahead and have fun anyway.

If they are judo players just sit down and scoot up. Don't hold competition on a pedastool. Have fun and do you!!!
If it's a jiu jitsu tournament and there is mostly Judo guys I don't see how they have an advantage. Is your guard strong? If so pull guard then submit/sweep. If not, well just work what you know and all will end well. The worst thing that can happen is you loose and really get focused on how you messed up and what you need to work on. Just get in as many divisions as you can and stay tight.
After seeing my daughter get toss around everyday by a Judo kid who out weights her about 40 lbs. We now take his Judo out of the picture by having her do the BLACK Mamba, mini stomp all the way to lockdown. No more Judo throws...:)
I intend to have fun if it wasn't fun I wouldnt continue to train, the tips are a big help all in all its a no points submission only tournament so pulling guard was my option if all else fails! My guard is tight and my lockdown has come a long way as well as my rubberguard so with that said training continues and we will see how it goes when day comes!
