Just had to knock the rust off dude, you'll be back throwing flying shit around people's necks in no time :)
Dude I didn't get it taped but I went to pull guard in the Absolute and I missed him so bad I just landed straight on my head LOL. I just started laughing as he pounced and attempted to pass my guard. I wish I would have got it cause it was such a fail.
Yeah it was a good way to shake the rust off. I had a lot of fun. I just wish I didn't live 5-6 hours away from these tournaments. Makes for a long day driving there and back.
Looks like thats all the video I got. I had another match but it didnt come out. Not sure if it was operator error or what. Either way I had a lot of fun and I'm looking to get back out there May 4th for the second qualifier. Gonna make sure I have a full camera battery next time.
Hey man, good rollin. I was watching you before our match, your r.g game is tight. Nice to get to train with ya.
Good tourney back. No injuries, super smooth tech, and solid d by opponents. I like the way you roll man. The key is just to stay healthy and keep training. From what Ive seen you're doin it right. Keep on homie.
All jokes aside, that would be my only suggestion, more aggression. Attack first and hard and don't be nice about it. Everything else is there.
The path to IC in the first match was professional, but your leg curls/RG clinch looked a little loose. Start DB'ing when ur done with IC to keep the path intact, don't let the DB go until after your KFM is complete. Keep ur eyes peeled for the new invisible croc, it's all about using the DB to lock the far shoulder.
Your leg lock defense looked stellar. Get obsessed with passing :-)
I am so pissed I dont have any video from my match saturday. EEERRRR!
Good matches Brent. (I can relate to the long lay off:)
keep it up!

Good job considering 3 yrs out. Worth it to shake the cobwebs off, one comp always does it for me don't matter if it's the second or seventh after the first one for a while the confidence floods back. Do not leave it another fuckin 3 yrs dude u rep too hard to sit on the sidelines.
As Eddie said, that first match RG path was top notch...really impressive. Keep getting after it man :)
Def not sitting out that long again. May 4th is the next tourney and as soon as the registration opens ill be one of the first to sign up.
Thanks Mike. Ive been working rubber guard for awhile so it means a lot to get props. You can't see it in the video but when I put the IC on and pulled the foot down, he really didn't like it. I should have crushed down more and tried to break him. Oh well I'll keep that in mind next time. I still have a ways to go with double bagging comfortably and leg curls but now that it has been pointed out ill focus on closing those holes. You'll see an even better/improved game and a murderous Brent Smith
Onward and upward!
