Kron Gracie vs Shinya Aoki
Braulio Estima vs Rodolfo Vieira
Andre Galvao vs Rafael Lovato Jr.
Brendan Schaub vs Roberto "Cyborg" Abreu
Bill Cooper vs Ryan Hall
Michelle Nicolini vs MacKenzie Dern
It'll be interesting to see who fights in Gi and NoGi.
is this the full line-up does anyone know?
Nice
I was hoping Marcelo was on the next Metamoris, but that is a sweet lineup.
One of the Mendes Bros would be cool to.
Really looking forward to Rodolfo vs. Braulio and Galvao vs. Lovato, and I'm very interested to see how Aoki vs. Kron goes. My guess would be that it's No Gi?
And I'm sorry, but Brendan Schaub is facing Cyborg? That's going to be a massacre.
I hope not. Victor Estima said he was on the card and Jeff Glover and Caio Terra both hinted at a rubber match in no-gi.
I'd give up on that, he's all but retired. If he doesn't do ADCC this year I think he might not ever compete again.
Yeah it really is.
If Aoki and Kron is no-gi Aoki has a lot better shot, but I think it's a pretty big mismatch regardless. Kron has looked incredible without the gi, and has given Marcelo garcia a run for his money twice, even though Marcelo did guillotine him the first time. But their last match Kron almost put Marcelo to sleep, and submitted Claudio Calasans.
It's been a a long time since Aoki has had a no-gi match against anyone at the top level and Kron has a size advantage also.
If it's the gi Kron should win this easy. Either way i hope it's a closer match than i think it will be.
Of all names to pull out of a hat, Schaub would not be the one I expected to see here. They say his sub game is good, but Cyborg is an terror on the mat. If Schaub can even make a good showing I'd say its a win for him.
Overall I think Ralek did a good job of mixing vets with the young bloods, and BJJ with the MMA community. Definitely a very marketable card.
Looking forward to it.
Not 100 % confirmed but Bruno Bastos is saying that the gi and no-gi breakdown is
Kron Gracie x Shinya Aoki - NoGi
Rodolfo Vieira x Braulio Estima - Gi
Andrew Galvao x Rafael Lovato Jr - Gi
Brendan Schaub x Cyborg Abreu - NoGi
Bill Cooper x Ryan Hall - NoGi
Mackenzie Dern x Michelle Nicolini - Gi
All subs are legal correct?
This sounds about right, although I figured Cooper vs. Hall would be Gi. Either way, the only chance of Cyborg vs. Schaub being competitive in the least bit is No Gi, otherwise Cyborg would probably make Schaub look worse than he already will. And I'm not hating on Schuab, the guy's a great athlete and a good MMA fighter, but he's out of his depth against Cyborg in a jiu-jitsu match. Braulio vs. Nick Diaz would have been more competitive at the Jiu-Jitsu Expo, and Nick is a legit black belt who has better accomplishments in competitive BJJ.
Kron vs. Aoki in No Gi will make it more competitive, for sure. Chances we see Aoki utilize rubber guard?
Well Cooper and Hall both prefer no-gi, and are both little stronger in that realm. Plus Hall is focusing on MMA and is likely doing less gi training. Combine that with Cooper as a coin toss on whether or not he does the Worlds and I think it makes the most sense for that match to be no-gi.
I think Schaub will get beat no matter what unless he lays on his back and does the home alone for 20 minutes.
Braulio vs Nick?
I agree Kron x Aoki will be way more competitive in no-gi. But Kron's only no-gi losses are to Marcelo I think? Either way glad to see that one is no gi.
Would be interested to see what game Aoki plays, he has underrated TDs and has a judo background, or will he try and play bottom and go rubber guard
Obviously Kron is the favorite, but will be fun to watch just because of the different style match up
I Wash They Had Matched Cyborg A Little Better. He Is One Of My Favorites, But That Just Isn't fair.
Nobod Else Excited For Cooper X Hall? That Is One Of The Most InterestingMatch Ups In My Opinion :)

Aoki doesnt give a fuck!!!!
100% It should be the most exciting on the card, just because Cooper is so entertaining and unpredictable. He loves to please the crowd and Hall always goes hard for the finish.
As far as the breakdown, they've trained a lot together. They use a lot of the same primary offense (rolling back take, deep half, RNC, darce, triangle). I don't see either of them surprising the other too much. Cooper has been finished by some heel hooks and that's a big x-factor for Hall. I gotta think he has a strong chance to finish if he can get himself into some leg entaglements. Cooper is so wild and attacks from everywhere though, you just never know. It's hard to call.
I think Krons posture is real solid and will be tough for Aoki to break that posture for RG, for sure because you know Kron will be aware of/ worried about Aoki's RG. Aoki will have to be fast and a bit tricky to get into RG, but once there Aoki has a huge advantage. Since there is no points for the sweep Kron might just bail and let Aoki take the DA sweep to top side. I don't think Kron can defend the gogo if he stays put. Aoki might just finish with a sneaky Jap tie once he gets to side though!
I'm picking Galvao too, but Galvao has had problems with long and lanky guys in the past (Braulio, Roger, Ryron) and I think Lovato could cause some problems. I still have Galvao though.
I think the gi and no-gi difference is most telling with galvao/Lovato and Rodolfo/Braulio. If Rodolfo vs Braulio was no-gi straight up I would pick Braulio. In the gi Rodolfo is a jedi. Rodolfo is one of the few current top guys that seems drastically different between gi and no-gi.
Yea, the heel hook situation for cooper is pretty bad, but cooper is a baller. With a match that has two extremely dynamic players like that, there's no telling what will happen.
Also if Cavaca couldn't footlock Bill, I mean I definitely wasn't suggesting Hall has some huge advantage. I've just seen a couple heel hook losses happen to Bill, like te DJ Jackson one. I think the match is going to be very close. If Cooper gets in some tight spots i easily easily see him putting himself into a guillotine or other sub just to create some opportunities.
I wonder what kind of pay these guys are getting
I don't Aoki would come cheap, Schuab makes some decent money also I would assume, maybe he is doing this as a favor
Its a tough sell to get people to pay, grappling shows never have sold well, throw in some mma names but its not like mma fans will buy it because its grappling
Hopefully they will keep these up, I loved the old days ofADCC when you would have mma guys like Tito, Hughes, etc...doing it. Ah, the good ole days
Does anyone know what weight the cooper v hall is at?
Yea, and you gotta think hall is on this. He has studied cooper. That's a hole that could cost him with hall.
We'll see. I'm stoked for this whole card. Absolutely phenomenal.
I would've liked to have seen Marcelo or Rafael mendes fighting somebody (or possibly each other 0.0)
Coop is too big for Hall. Coop will RNC or toehold him. Hall's always been over rated though, so its no surprise people are thinking he will win.
