Kids MMA Tournaments

Looking for some help finding a kids MMA tournament someplace on the East Coast. I know they have them, because I have watched everyone ever posted on the internet.lol.

I'm ready !!!!! I want to throw down, but I can't find a tournament. My dads cool with it, if I can find one as close as what we travel for Naga. I was invited to the Tiger Balm Open and was pumped !!!!! Until my dad showed me on a map it was on the other coast of Canada. A 53 hour road trip.......shot that down.lol.

I don't want to sound cocky but I have watched every match of kids my age that are on the net, and I don't think any of them could hang with me longer that 45 seconds. I want to get out there in the MMA world and show everyone what I can do, flying the 10th planet flag the whole time.

So if anyone has any info ......please pass it on to me.

After watching a bunch of youtube vids it looks like there'll be kids division in the UFC soon.

I'm looking for a babies tourney. 2 and under : )

I'm in.....I'll smash a 2 year old !!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol.

Settle down kid, just learn the stuff right now. Worry about competing later (well jiu jitsu competitions are ok, but not MMA competitions for god's sake). On the other hand, I suppose it depends on how old you are. I wouldn't be so opposed to seeing 16 year olds fighting amateur MMA, provided they have head gear and leg pads and bigger gloves (maybe 6oz or something).

Hes 12 and if you read the part where he said his father is ok with it that kind of makes your opinion insulting by contradicting his father.

You are right.. his opinion could be considered insulting to his father but he has a right to his opinion and his father is probably confident in his judgement and will not be bothered by what others say.

Personally I believe fighting at even 16 would be too young.. where I draw the line, I don't know.

Relax guys !!!!lol. I have grown up around this. My dad is the former mid-west kickboxing champion and martial arts instructor as well as a boxing coach. I took the silver gloves championship at 9. He has watched me throwdown boxing, kickboxing to many times to count. I always have an edge over whoever I face because I trust my training and also knowing he's in my corner. He would never let me get hurt. I have played football for 6 years......way more danger of getting hurt there. I blew my ankel apart three years ago and was in a cast for 8 weeks, no one blinked an eye. I go to school with 1 black eye from boxing people lose there minds.lol.

You guys act like I'm trying to invent kids mma, so I can go pound someone.lol. Its already out there, I'm just looking for some tournament locations.

And yes the ones out there work for safty. Shin guards, head gear, gloves, cup, mouthguard, No elbows or knees. Limited strikes to the head. Like I said, Ive watched the video. I have taken way more punishment boxing, They start kids competeing at 6 in that....

haha you don't mean to sound cocky but you think at 12 every other kid you go against won't rock a minute with you? you got another thing coming. there are gonna be kids with different styles and strengths out there that you're not going to be ready for. and at 12 i would not be going into comps. i would be training like hell. i would suggest waiting for tournaments until the age of 14-15 because you would be getting 2-3 more years of training which would help you soooo much.

you posted something saying you dont see anything wrong with 13 year olds in mma tournaments why now the switch to 14-15 and from what ive seen from conner hes not even close to as cocky as he could be and im sure most of the ppl here would agree with me

Agreed.. def isn't cocky. For some reason his post made me think of something though. Another reason I would be against it is that some kids mature later or earlier.. for all you know you'd end up going against a freight train. Mike Tyson was like 190 at 12(of course weight classes but you'll get 120lbs 12 year old.. however heavy they're supposed to be built like a brick).. Still don't know what age would make it seem ok in my head though.

Definitely work on skills eat and get better etc.. worry about that stuff later is still my opinion.

After watching some of your videos Conner, I would have to agree about the not many people your age being able to hang with you. I say go for it and good luck man. To be honest, you'd probably give many grown men on this forum fits.

LOL. Talk about an old post coming back around. I did this like 4 months ago, just got home from jiu jitsu class and see i got some dude fired up and calling me out. ( That would be you Muaythaibeast )Lol. RELAX Dude.

First off you bring up clips of jiu jitsu, post was talking about kids mma tourny. I've seen plenty of jiu jitsu fights, 94 of them in 2010 in fact......but who's counting. Guys that know me from this forum, know I have lost match's . So if you think you have uncovered some deep dark secret. Sorry to dissapoint. Guys from this forum or who know me in person will also tell you, I think my jiu jitsu sucks !!!!!! My stand up is still the best thing I got going on. I can only hope my Jits is 1/2 as good as Master Eddie's when I have put in the years, but right now I have less than 2 years, so I know i have a long way to go.

Back to what started this, which I wasn't being cocky. I was making a statement about the kids mma tournys I have watched on Youtube. And I'm kinda pissed now so I will make this fast. There's not a KID I saw that could hang with me for a minute in my division. I STILL BELEAVE THAT !! If you let me trade hands and kicks with any of the kids my age I have seen on youtube. There done.....Don't really care if you beleave that or not. I have 3 pro fighters and 2 amature adult fighters that I just left training with, who would tell you, who have all been rocked one time or another by this cocky 12 year old. They show me the respect for the time and effert I have put in, that matters to me....not what some troll thinks on this forum.lol.

And don't call me sweety, save that for the dudes you train with. Guys I train with call me Conner or Machine. Machine was givin to me by guys that watched me train stand up years ago......... I'll bet you gave yourself your nickname. You Beast !! LOL.

The video you posted of my loss, I was 10.... the kid I faught was 14. I have had some bone head loss's, but thats not really one I hang my head about. If a 14 year old cant outpower a 10 year old.....they should go lay in traffic.lol..

A 12 year old kid isn't ready for MMA. I'm 100% against this. If your dad is okay with it, I'm against him too. Learn all the jits you can. Learn striking too. But no fighting yet. Kids are supposed to want to grow up too fast. That's what we expect from you. Our job as parents is to stop you when you're making decisions that aren't good for you. As a dad myself, I have to caution you against it and hope your dad is smart enough to do the same.

Holy shit this is an old post, thanks for bringing it back to life Mike. Thank God I didn't listen to you and people like you. I'm now 17 and doing well. I hold multiple National and International titles and I am rated in the top 5 in two weight divisions. (That's against men by the way, my first fight was at 14 against a 19 year old. That was my only loss, a split decision) 6-1 in MMA, I am NY first Liberty Games Champion in MMA and Jiu Jitsu. Over 350 Jiu Jitsu matches, multiple Pankration and Muay Thai Titles. I was just contacted as the number one contender for The World Title, we are working to make that match happen in the next few months. I am Jr in high school taking advanced college classes since 9th grade and I have been accepted into New Visions, an advanced teaching program for gifted students in the medical field (I'm going to be a PA). 200 apply, 15 are accepted. Everything I have done is because of the strength fighting instilled in me, along with the full support and guidance from my dad and mom. So explain to me again how MMA so young is bad, and my fathers influence will negatively effect me? Lol.

The ethics, values, self esteem, and self motivation that martial arts can instill in a young person are unquestionably valuable.

The impact and damage of MMA/Boxing leading to traumatic brain injuries and hormonal deficiencies, especially in a young still developing brain are incredibly dangerous.

That being said, I wish you the best and hope your MMA journey leaves you healthy.

Lol ....... and that's why you never see me on here anymore. Anyone who knows me (and their are several 10th guys that do, know in person I am far from cocky.) But I have always defended myself from people who tell me they are smarter then me or what's best for me. NOT because I'm smarter than everyone on here, but because I have people who surround me for that advise that I trust 100%. That's why I have been a ghost and just use it for videos and keep up with how people are doing that I have known most of my life. I don't think I have the patience anymore for it. Lol. Again someone who is smarter than everyone else. Explain why I'm the first NY amateur champion that was held at the liberty games. The Liberty Games is sponsored by New York. Yeah a state that still is Pro MMA free. But in this event I fought kids.my own age and I switched to leg kicks because I didn't want to hurt anyone, because the rules in this state sanctioned event where way less protective than anyplace else I ever competed for. Yeah that's why NY is still not sanctioned. Ill just let your lack of knowledge go about the NY MMA scene because I've had enough stones thrown at me. Lol. But I'm sure my understanding of safe events in NY and unsafe events is a little deeper than yours. Zog get me out of here please!!!!I've learned my lesson, I'll stay gone for good I promise. Lol.

Call yourself cocky or not cocky or whatever the hell you want but you really need to stop letting people trolling you get under your skin. If you're really confident in yourself you don't need to say shit about yourself to other people to feel validated. Posting a picture of yourself with your hand raised and rattling off a list of your credentials, accomplishments, and your ever so bright future, is definitely a sign that you give way too many fucks about what people think of you. ^^^^^ Well said. But again it wasn't posted to feed my ego. It was posted to offset someone calling me a dumb kid, implying that I had a dumb ass father, and the camp I train out of must be some thug camp for encouraging what I do. Pretty much the post was thanks for the input but I'm doing just fine. Maybe those words would have been enough but I felt the need to drive the point home. Drives me insane that people vomit out opinions about the path I have taken to fight and compete. I think way more kids should be doing it. I have seen kids dropping out of school around me, lost a kid I knew to a drug overdose, girls younger than me getting knocked up, and I can't help to think if someone had introduced them to my path ( or countless other paths) their choices may have been better. When done correctly competing in a combat sport at a young age can give kids the tools to accomplish anything they set their minds to. Narrow views like Mike drive me insane. It is not for every kid for sure. But that's up to the coaches and people around that kid to decide. When he says it's not right for any kid, it snuffs out the unlocking of unknown potential for countless number of kids just like me.

As far as being trolled your right I do let it effect me. But you kinda hit the nail on the head. A few years back if sombody thought kids fighting was wrong, there would have been a pretty deep exchange from people posting thoughts from both sides, troll free. When trolls did jump in stating there OPINION as the true one and only fact on a natter, it was shut down in a hurry. Not so much anymore. And it's not just on posts of mine it is pretty basic for a lot of posts. Like I said that's the reason I don't visit and enjoy the site like I used to. Sucks used to love the input even when it got heated. But at least the way I look at it someplace along the line it jumped from heated exchanges to just another Sherdog kinda feel a lot of times. That site I spend 0 time on, because my head would explode.

As far as sniffing out egos, I have sniffed myself out.Lol. I'm trying to figure out how to cancel my memebership, but don't see anything as of yet. That's why I yelled for coach Zogs help. I will disagree that I'm dropping because of ego has been sniffed out ( all my championship belts, medals and awards are stored in a box in my basement by the way. A true martial arts has discipline and control. If you don't want to post on the forum, just don't do it. Don't make your active membership a crutch.

The forum is not a paid feature, only MTS is.... So the unpaid feature made you upset so you want to cancel the paid one? Which won't stop you from using the forum, only stopping using the forum can do that... I just glanced over everything but it all left me pretty confused.

2. You've had some success, but you're also speaking to a medical professional. If you're as smart as you claim you know the risks cranial trauma poses to developing brains. But I kinda doubt your claims. Can't find much info on all these supposed wins, but admittedly I don't care much. So I only spent a little bit looking and found a 6-1 record.
3. I don't wish any bad things on you. I legitimately hope everything goes well for you. But With the unsafe things you're doing and your overinflated ego I don't have great hope for you.

Ah, this thread again... "MMA tournaments" themselves are going the way of the dodo due to risks to fighters taking multiple fights in a night, plus bracketing problems with injuries and some other stuff as well. One for kids would be pretty rare. You didn't list your state either, some states straight up won't allow it as I understand it.

Your best bet is to hit the individual combat sports events.

P.S.

You didn't state your age either, some states might let you take a regular adult MMA fight as an upper teen with parents consent, I know at least a long time ago that was possible at 16 in Texas because I knew of it happening but they said that was the youngest (at that time in that state). Thats something to discuss with your coach and parents though.
