Metamoris said he broke a rule of conduct
Weak, I just read about it I'm pretty sure BTG isn't racist at all
I keep seeing people say, "Keenan just lost to Paulo at Worlds!" neglecting to mention it was by one advantage, and trying to say he doesn't deserve the spot because of the game he plays against them. Watch him rumble people for days in the BJJ Kumite, or recall that he won both his weight and absolute in all four big tournaments at purple before getting promoted to Brown, where he also has killed basically everyone and competed against the elite Black belts at Copa Podio and held his own.
Keenan deserves this opportunity and if he were able to catch Victor it would be HUGE for him.
This sucks Bill is a friend to 10th Planet I hate that this happened
Really ......please..... @ Bill Cooper , I tweet funny stuff too bro its all good.
Anyways hope to see you soon @ your next fight.....
Keenan will get his face rolled...
are you serious? he's a brown belt who went up against not just dudes with much more experience than him, but guys who are legends at the top of the world of black belt jiujitsu.
Yea, got smashed by Xande and Rodolfo (lost on points, not even bad). Clearly horrible. lol.
Rodolfo sucked ass at the Worlds, did you see him lose in the finals to Buchecha? Who loses to Buchecha?
ANYWAY..
I bet he does very well against Victor.
I'm glad everyone's sort of coming to my defense about the Copa Podio comment haha. Keenan may not beat Victor, but he's a live underdog for sure.
It's not like Schuab and Cyborg, which I expect to be a mismatch despite Schuab's athleticism. I'm pretty sure Cyborg will get into his head, too considering he was touted to smash Big Nog in Brazil and got KTFO. Not sure if that was mental, but it very well could have been and if that's the case, Cyborg's already won.
Since when is placing first in your division and second in the absolute in the adult black belt level against the clear top ultra heavyweight considered a horrible performance? Rodolfo had an amazing showing after taking a year off. This will be a good experience for Keenan, I feel it will be a Copa Podia situation where it shows him where he is at and will cause him only improve his game. You either win or you learn.
I worked a 12 hour day today. Yeah, fail on my part. I am just gonna go off and apologize I am not out to patronize people or pretend like Keenan isn't a bad mother fucker, because he has proved over and over again he is. I think Victor is gonna present a tough test.
Keenan is still a brown belt right?
Brown to Black is only a year as long as you're 18.
I like Keenan. I read a great interview with him and I was impressed with his outlook on a lot of things.
Being the noob that I am I could never forcast how he will do against black belts, but I know a lot of people are doubtful about his potential. I'm in the "wait and see" bracket. I'm sure he feels some massive pressure right about now.
He will be a brown belt for another year maybe two. He will put on a great show at Metamoris just he is not at the elite level yet. Gianni Grippo has a better comp record and i saw a video of him rolling with Gui Mendes and Gui killed him. If Gianni isnt at the Black belt level yet i dont think Keenan is. Yes gianni lost to Keenan before but Keenan is also 2-3 weight classes above him.
Yeah but Sean Roberts and AJ Agazarm both just got their black belts and Keenan beat them by submission a couple times. Is Galvao now the man to decide when Keenan gets his black belt? He's head of Atos right?
To be fair the Mendes brothers make most black belts look like chumps
In all honesty, if some random hypothetical 32 year old lanky dude with a style exactly like Keenan's, came into your gym and wrapped and tapped your browns and black belt instructor multiple times, what would you classify him?
If you consistently win major comps at brown, it's time to move up. Keeping him at brown any longer than the minimum, is strictly grooming for immediate bb success. A subtle form of sandbagging. He clearly rolls and adapts at the highest level.
Just because the best of the best beat him is irrelevant. Those are the only ones who can, so they are who he should roll.
Oh, and Paulo will be a black belt world champ one day. Believe that. All the above applies to him too.
Keenan now out due to injury.

JT Torres takes his place. I like this match up.
