The Roach. Round 2. This is the fabled Sorcerer. The Roach was the 1st person to land it in comp. Now he's also the 2nd. Great angle. Somethings wrong with the audio, though. We should have another video of this somewhere.

The Roach in the Final. He's giving up top position without much of a fight. His guard is great, but we gotta learn to smash, pass, and dominate from the top.
The other kid lands a really slick shoulder lock from top half guard. Very nice.

Here's Sam Davis going for 3rd place in the Blue Belt Absolute. Sam is a warrior. He weighs in under 130lbs and he does the Absolute EVERY TIME. I couldn't be prouder of him.
Awesome Marcelo Garcia style guillotine finish against a much larger 4 stripe Blue.

Ok, this is arguably one of the most unorthodox submissions you will ever see in competition. This is Chad Allen. We call this move The Ginger Snap. This dude will (against my advice) pull side control or let his opponent pass to hunt for this thing. I've been caught in it a couple of times. It's horrible.
Chad Allen, Round 1.

This is 2 of our guys in the under 155 White Belt final. Chad Allen vs Cody Koch. Pretty laid back match since they're teammates.

This is Matt Skaff in the 155-175 Final. His 3rd consecutive guillotine choke. All in under 1 minute.

Damn that sorcerer was quick and to the point!
Sam Davis in the match he lost in the Absolute. The guy takes him down and literally hugs him inside the full guard for 4 minutes. This dude won the absolute without attempting a guard pass or submission in any of his other matches. You make the call.

Cody Koch in Round 1 of the White Belt Under 155. He wins this one on points.

Skaff's 2nd match in the Absolute. He takes on a 330lb Iron Giant. He got him to a decision. That's a victory in and of itself.

And this is Chad Allen vs The Iron Giant in the Absolute. Round 1.
130lbs vs 330lbs. YIKES.

And here's the 2nd Ginger Snap by Chad Allen. This one in round 2. He literally forces the guy into top side control, pushing him out of his half guard in order to set it up. Maddening, but it's working out on occasion.
The video cuts out as he finishes, but trust me, it was gruesome.

For the record, I told Cody at the beginning of the match NOT to hang out in side control. That if he got to side to go straight to knee on belly and work on mount. I didn't know what the hell the ginger snap was but I knew he didn't want any part of it.
Haha.. My goal was to win the whole tournament with just that move, But then when I saw it was me and Cody in the finals I figured "Yeah, thats probably not going to happen" :p But if I had to lose, Im glad it was to a fellow 10th planet warrior. Great day for 10th Planet all around. Everyone put on a great show it seems like.
Hell yeah!!!
All of your students are very talented! So calm and entertaining to watch! Hope to train with you guys soon.

Hey y'all! I'm Carmen. This is my first match. Been training for three weeks. Really thrilled that I did so well. My coach totally pulled me through.
Man that's amazing, that ginger snap.
Chad will you film a break down of the setup and post it dude? I always wrap arms up like that with my leg in side control, but I don't have any finishes.
All your students are impressive Brandon!
Just got word that we took 3rd place in the team title. Not too bad considering we only took 8 people :)
Ill try to get a video of what Ive got from so far. Im sure theres TONS of room for improvement in it, but hopefully with more people dissecting it, the process can take much less time of finding the safest, most efficient way to do it.. along with all the little variations needed for different situations.
Well done.Some really nice stuff.
Guys looks awesome!
You guys had an awesome showing! Very nicely done!
This is Zeke Kelley. He has been with us less than a month and this is his first competition. Really fast Guillotine choke and quality entertainment from his family filming the match :)
