Move to San Francisco before August 5th

Hey guys,

I officially got word that my paperwork has been cleared and got a job offer in San Francisco.

I've never been out there and have no clue how Cali is. I've lived my whole life out here in the East Coast. This is a big opportunity that I have been waiting for and I'm definitely going to take it.

I wanted to see if anyone was willing to help me out by giving me a heads up on any good rooms for rent, hotel rentals, etc. I plan on looking for a room to rent until I can get on my feet with this new job. Any suggestions? The actual job is located 325 Pacific Ave in San Fran. Not sure if thats the financial district or not. I will probably be going out there in the beginning without my car until I can figure it all out. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

I hear you're the man to go see in SF. Sign me up as the newest member to the family out there. Zach and Holland have helped me grow and I am looking forward to continuing the journey with 10th Planet San Fran. If you need someone to help out mopping the mats, I'm the guy! haha

Thanks man! I have been searching throughout the last three days, still no luck. But I have sent out some emails and voicemails so we'll see. I've covered all of SF, Richmond, Oakland and Haywood to find something haha

I got a few bites on rooms in Daly City, Haywood and San Leandro. Still working to see which I can land but hopefully I'll know by end of this weekend

I would try Daly City. Hayward and San Leandro can a bitch to commute from in the morning plus the bridge toll is $6 before a certain time. It's at least a hour commute in the morning when without traffic it's like a 20 minute drive. Alameda is also close enough and there are nice parts of Oakland. If you live in the East Bay commute can get pricey so it's good to eliminate distance. I hope you find a nice place and welcome to the Bay Area. :)

Is it true Hayward/San Leandro are 35 minutes away from SF through the BART system?

Got the room finally. I'll be staying out in Oakland for now. As of now, I can move in anytime after July 8th. Not sure when I actually will be moving, but I'll let you know once I do. Your academy will be my first stop

Yeah BART is more convenient and faster most of the time, depends what stop your getting off really. If you're getting off at the financial district you probably would want Montgomery or Embarcadaro or Powell Street at the furthest. It depends if you leave early enough and make all the trains on time you can get there in 35 minutes with the stops I think. I take Rockridge (in North Oakland), not sure where you live in Oakland now but I make it to the Mission in like 25 minutes pretty regularly when I worked in SF, and I think that's Denny's academy exit if you are taking BART. Hope it helps dude :)

Not sure too much about the area, but the room I will be renting is in Oakland right next to Mills College. I googled the route and its says to take the BART at the Coliseum/Oakland Airport to Embarcadaro. Something along 25 mins or so? Im definitely going out there a week or so before I start work to get used to all this stuff.

Does BART have a monthly pass or something?

I'll be in Oakland for now officially, leaving PA on July 29th. Road Trip, should get to Cali somewhere between Aug 2nd-3rd.

How far are you from Mills College? Not too good w/ the area but I'll be staying near there for a while. Definitely gotta give me some advice on where and where not to go. We'll definitely link up then when I get out there

That room in Oakland did not fall through. Let me know if you guys know of anything, I've been living in Craigslist for the past week and a half
