That is bull shit, violations of every type of right.
do you think the officer was in the right to attack the dog what would u have done?
theres tasers, pepper spray im sure they could have been less lethal, definately a danger, i think if they would of took their hands of the innocent man for a moment the dog would have backed off it seemed to listen well
The dog wasn't even trying to attack the officer, if you watch it reacted with a little snap towards the hand of the unfamiliar officer trying to grab its collar. I posted on the youtube page and I'll post here again that the officer shouldn't have had access to a weapon, shooting a dog in that scenario is ridiculous. You can hear women and children scream all over the entire neighborhood after the dog gets shot and I'm sure it's one of those things that they're not gonna forget for their entire life. I guess it's all in your perception of the situation but I wouldn't want that on my conscience over a situation where the guy wasn't even doing anything illegal to begin with and the dog wasn't even attacking.
If the cop shot the dog once and waited to see if the dog backed off or not I think it's
Justified. It did lunge at the cop and he probably thought he was going to get bit. Immediately shooting the dog 5 times isn't justified but u have to be In his shoes at the time I guess
So much wrong here. Completely avoidable by all parties. The guy was obviously being a bit antagonistic, BUT, that is NOT illegal. I'm not sure where this was so I don't know if the city put in some BS anti recording law, but as far as I know, it is still completely legal to film openly, public events, including arrests. So I don't think they (the police) should have ever engaged the man to begin with. As far as the dog, it literally hurt my heart to watch that because that dog was only doing what a dog does. I think the dog was definitely showing aggression but as I prefaced, I don't think this situation had to escalate to that point.
Terrible
Looking at those houses, i'm 80% sure that its in cali, probably Long Beach. And things can go to shit really quick in LB. Really sad for the dog, but I guess the cop was trying to make a statement. Don't mess with the cop. I guess they got really annoyed by this guy barking at them when they are trying to do their job. See that BIG huge SWAT truck?? They send those out when big shit is going down and when that happen they don't need a smart ass guy pacing up and down the street barking at them (not the dog). Just let those cops do their job. Imagine if something really happen and the guy they were after come running down the street and grab this guy with the video camera and his dog as hostage?? It would have compounded their job. This is the same thing like when people slow down to watch a traffic accident and in turn cause another accident. I'm not justifying that the dog shooting was right, all i'm saying is if this guy with the dog would mind his own business, his dog would have been alive. I have family as cops and its very hard for them to put on their uniform because when they put them on, fools act like its a target. My cousins are great guys who's out there to serve and protect. They don't need a camera guy to be in the way trying to get a youtube video.
That guy didnt do anything that justified putting him in cuffs people have the right to speak their mind I could see them cuffing him if he went inside the area that was blocked off by the cops but he wasent!!! He was just walking on the sidewalk outside of where things were going on speaking his mind and recording if the police arent doing anything wrong why do they care if someone is recording???? To take it a step further that dude was actually getting in his car to leave when the police rolled up on him he didnt resist he put his hands behind his back and let them cuff him those cops need to learn to be more proffessional mabye if they did people wouldnt hate them so much and situations like that wouldnt get that out of control
Bruce its the Hawthorne PD in south bay near lax
This is why I fucking HATE cops, they act like no one can have an opinion. Dude was leaving and they would not just let him go, cops have huge ego's that make them think everyone has to give up personal rights for them. It's the "mentality of cops" that make them the biggest dousch bags. I have a student that's a sheriff & he told me flat out that most of them are on steroids and that contributes to there aggressive cocksucker behavior. People need to be careful before they get on there knees and praise cops like thease " fucking hero/Dieties " it's pathetic
If it was my dog i would give up the rest of my life or my freedom to make sure that cop died.
That was just wrong man
Fuck that was brutal. As soon as the dog started convulsing I had to stop it and I don't particular have any love for animals. Heart breaking for the dogs owner.
well the dude was being ignorant, and talking shit to the cops, with FUCKING RIFLES in their hands you know its serious when they have rifles, should have just been on the other side of the street, like the smarter camera guy was doing, but its funny how weak he became when his DOG was shot, and personally i love animals and i believe it was an error on many sides, on all sides including the cop for shooting, and the dog for snapping/barking at a GUN
His owner was in jeopardy. I know many dogs that would have done the same.
Dog Killer Cop-Killed Man with Down Syndrome for Posing Threat
http://libertariancrier.com/dog-kill...posing-threat/
what people seem to not realise is that the military & police departments are a friendly place for sociopaths and psychopaths. And dudes who genuinely just want to kill some shit. Just like my friend that joined the army just to shoot crazy shit like LAWS, some dudes join just to kill people. And most dudes go from the military to police jobs. That's why so many cops are introverted and socially disconnected. It's not just the job, sometimes it's just them. Dog, Disabled human, and perhaps some pets when he was a kid ?
Damn...I'm glad I live in Norway.
There just seems to be too much of this in the states.
I mean, of course, you don't exactly get a nuanced picture of the police through
corporate media, but there's little debating it when you see videos like this.
You would think the police officers had better training than to go off whenever someone
was shouting something to them.
Crazy...
True that!
No, we don't have any of this in Norway.
On the downside, we do have polar bears roaming the streets :'(
Well, we do have officers who, from time to time, use excessive force, but they're
not allowed to carry firearms here, so people don't get killed when they do.
I might be wrong here, but from my experience with dogs if a dog's gonna attack you
then it won't stop in front of you barking first. It's just gonna jump at you.
Either way, this was a disaster. Like you pointed out, why couldn't they just let him
mouth off and then leave? Instead they behaved like ordinary punks who got their egoes
hurt outside a club.
Most cops are cowards that got there asses kicked in school and now they walk around with chips on there shoulders, pumped with steroids, & Guns. Plus the sociopaths & psychopaths that join. Just a bad mix.
My experience is that a lot of people become a cop because its a good job and you only have to do a semester of community college. Many of them want to do good by becoming a cop, some are bitter that though they felt like a important person in high school, they see that was worthless in the real world and want to keep some kind of social power. A cop told me once that as police officer you mostly deal with the worst of humanity on a daily basis. That makes guys bitter about people in general and starts them down a dark road. When a well intentioned rookie comes on the force they adopt the prevalent attitude quickly. Police need better psychological screening, periodic re-screenings and most importantly IQ tests. It would be nice if they kept their guns in their car until needed, thats what police forces in the worlds greatest nations do.
Honestly, this is weird to say but if it weren't for cannabis laws I would have become a fish and game warden. I feel its the job I was born for but I simply cant enforce unjust laws or abide by them myself.

Found this one on 9gag.
Good to see these things don't go by unnoticed.
Aaron - I think you have a fair point.
I think both teachers and cops need to have
periodic screenings. As soon as they show signs of
being worn out they should have some mandatory
group sessions or something, to keep them from
joining the dark side.
I fucking HATE cops.
We have good cops on the forum and I have some as training partners as well. So this mass generalization is always extreme and wrong.
However, I sympathize and agree to a large extent. It is a position of huge power that we will give to just about anybody. I agree with Aaron 100%. Stricter screening and requirements along with consistent counseling by qualified PhDs, and higher pay for meeting and upholding these requirements. Also they should train jj. All the cops that do this are good cops that I've met and I don't think it's coincidence. It's healthy for the ego and soul.
Unfortunately, many are egocentric power trippin sociopaths that belong no where near power and weapons.
I couldn't watch vid. I love doggies.
Then you have no reason to get defensive. You weren't the only one to reply. It was a broad statement.
