I will be in Los Angeles next week!! (July 7th)

I am heading down to LA next Sunday (July 7th) for just shy of 4 weeks. I will be down there for a class for work. The class is pretty tough with a good amount of homework/studying BUT I am going to do my best to hit as many 10P moons as I can. Now that 10P Spokane is no longer, I am even more excited/motivated to train with all you guys. I won't have class/school the first day (Monday the 8th) so I plan on hitting up 10P Costa Mesa during the day, and HQ that night. After that, it will be schedule permitting. Please, please let me know if you guys have anything going on during the weekends, as Saturdays and Sundays are my best bet for training.

I'm getting a basics class going at NTC during the normal Muay Thai class so guys can be sure to have those basics down and Gerald doesnt have to worry about slowing the rest of the class down with it.

I think that's awesome. It can be so frustrating to show up to class and either 1) not know what the fuck is going on (too advanced) or 2) be ready to learn an advanced move but there are too many "new" people that don't know what the fuck is going on. I think separating the classes is going to help a ton. I wish I had that option when I first started.

I agree. Ive been in class and partnered up with a brand new person going over advanced moves and they have no idea how to respond, just fall over for no apparent reason. It's frustrating. Plus more Jiu Jitsu is always a good thing.

West LA doesn't have classes on the weekends, but our Tuesday/Thursday classes start a little later, if that helps at all.

I'll also be down in Costa Mesa on Monday, but I usually roll in the evening so we may just miss each other.

I am super excited to train/ roll with you too! Once I get down there I should have a better idea on how often I will be able to train. I know some of the moons have open mat on the weekends, so hopefully we can at least get the women together then. I originally was supposed stay in San Pedro but now I am staying in Manhattan Beach, I believe West LA and HQ are the closest of the gym to me. I do plan on training at Costa Mesa as much as possible but I would like to hit as many as the moons as I can.

Depending on traffic (and because it's LA, pay VERY close attention to the rush-hour times...!), West LA, HQ, Van Nuys, and Costa Mesa are within an hour's drive of Manhattan beach.

West LA is definitely the closest. How convenient. ;) :cool:

Yeah, rush hour traffic is why I changed my lodging. I didn't want to deal with it. My class is in El Segundo, so I am thinking I should only have a 10-15 drive to and from my hotel. I got the class start times from Scott, but how long are the evening classes. And I thought he said there was class on Sundays (?), is that class not Jiu Jitsu (wrestling??)

The actual length of the evening classes, once warm-ups and drills are over, is about an hour. Then we just roll until we get sick of it. :p For our 8:30 and 9 o'clock classes, I usually leave around 10:30-11ish, but you are free to go whenever. Some people come in just to drill, some people only roll a couple rounds, etc.

And yea, I'm an idiot, and there is indeed class on Sunday afternoons at 2pm. It's all wrestling and takedowns, no submissions (although we can always discuss the transition into jiu jitsu submissions).

8 women!! That's crazy. Unfortunately, day classes are undo-able for me with the exception of one Thursday later in July. This work shit is really getting in the way of my training. :)

Awesome. We will for sure be able to get together as those are the three main gyms I will be training at. We will just have to coordinate a bit so we don't miss each other. :o
