I like it.
i really like!
Nice, I Like it also!
Going to be sure to give this a go while rolling.
Sneaky dude.very
Im into it, i got hit with that from jose never saw it coming. Another dimension to spider web to attack and defend. Sick!
awesome! thanks Brent!
Going to drill this for sure, thx sir
I really need to step up my knee bar game and this is perfect to get it going, thank you Brent! :)
thanks!
Another gem from Mr. Alvarez. Can't wait to give it a go. That knee bar from top half you showed on MTS a while back has become one of my highest percentage subs. Thanks again!
gunna add this to my game, cheers dude. it looks like a nice way to counter the defense ive been doing for spider web. my defense for armcrusher is to open my hand up and turn it flat against my chest. it releases pressure on the elbow joint and then i just let them pull my arm out slowly and then regrab the wrist. it leaves you in a triangle but i like to work from a triangle than a armbar/spiderweb. i reckon this kneebar looks perfect for it, thanks man.
also looks good for small guys like me who fighting guys that defend arm bars with one arm.
Good stuff Brent!
Thats nasty! Found my new project. Thanks man.

Gokor has something similar at 1:08.

I can see how turning your palm to your chest offers less crushability but, if they have their hook snug inside your elbow joint with their thumb pointed up, how is that not gonna work?
No secret, Im a skeptic but . . . . I'll try it tonite. Do you have a skinny arm? Rubber elbow? :) Some of the people I crush feel it as a bicep slicer and tap before its leveraging the elbow joint. I like to rub my forearm bone a bit into the spot where the biceps turns into connective tissue (head of biceps?)
Nice! thanks for posting this!
I really like this. But I suck at one leg knee bars. I'm slow and guys always twist out of them too fast for me. But I think I can pull this off by going spiderweb into russian cowbow and use the kneebar/toehold attack that Vinny Mag showed Beaumont.
Awesome thinking outside of the box Brent. This is awesome to see people always expanding the game.
Very slick !! I been adding leg locks to the arsenal. So this will be drilled and added asap !! Thanks !
little black kid scrutiny, lol, yeah it relives pressure. it still hurts a bit but its like comparing someone sitting on you compared to someone choking you. the thing about it is it doesnt matter too much about how snug the hook is because its once the defending hand passes the leg. the guy in spiderweb still has the arm but has lost the leg on top of the arm to apply pressure. i do have good flexibility but ive worked it with other guys aswell and they all had it work too.
not that ive tested it out but i assume bigger guys would have more trouble with it and if someone gets the arm crsh on right away then it might not help. still it gives those few seconds to help and sometimes i get out.
i hope that helps explain things, im not saying this is the bees all and end all but its gotten me out of lots of problems.
Slick techique, there is a similar transition in Sambo from a failed armbar attempt, but I really dig your set up. My only concern is the way you are using the "Shotgun" grip, When your arm is on the outisde of their leg and grabbing your but/hip, there is a Omaplata esque counter if its done that way. I'd just suggest keeping your hand on the inside with your palm on their calf, and keep your elbow on the outside pinching backwards. The counter is rather obscure, but best to be safe.
That's a slick little set up. One of our guys went to a Rigan Machado seminar a few years ago and came back with this same move. I must confess, I haven't tried it at all. But I love the idea.
I'm big on jumping to the toe hold from Spider Web.
Good stuff, Brent :)
Played with it last night, kept forgetting to bring the arm around the backside of the leg, which i found out, is crucial to the finish lol.
Was able to hit this transition last night. I like it.
Great set-up, sell that arm-bar and if they ain't buying, you got a knee-bar at a fat discount! Capitalism!
I'm very glad you all can fall in love with this transition from the armlock to the kneelock. Like Eddie always says, arm crush to armlock if the best game from spiderweb, but man having that extra surprise can lead to a quick victory :)
This is genius! Can't wait to drill it!
