My 2 matches from Grapplers Quest US Nationals

Here are the 2 matches that got me the belt for the Grapplers Quest US Nationals. They are not my most exciting matches but I'm happy I got the wins. My two opponents were formidable, both instructors. The 1st was a John Danaher brown belt. This dude was strong. After I beat him, he challenged me to a rematch at something called the Professional Grappling League. The 2nd was a black belt from Brazil. The Brazilian easily destroyed his 1st opponent. I played it really cool with the Brazilian and managed to stuff his game. I had to do 2 overtimes with this dude to get the win.

And thats tatu, thanks for beating him he gave a decision in a match of mine he was reffing to his student i was competing against, a- hole

Tatu BJJ out of Scranton, Pa

So Tatu is a 2nd degree BB and a multiple time Pan Am champ. No wonder he took me to 2 overtimes. A funny story. I thought that I might of had an advantage from the regulation match. Between the regulation match and the 1st overtime, Tatu was lecturing me on why there was no advantage. While he was explaining this to me in his broken Brazilian English, he kept pushing me in the stomach with his fingers to get his point across. But, he was very respectful to me all in all, so I have no problem with him. :)

Tatu is truly a respectable opponent. Obviously undersized. But he makes up for that with a great amount of experience. He took home 2 belts and 2 medals from Grappler's Quest. The 2 belts were obviously 1st place awards. His 2 medals were both silver, I do believe.

Yeah, I saw him afterwards walking around with some hardware. He's a beast, for sure. He was so technical from the bottom.

Great performance Street! You looked VERY sharp out there. That underpass that got you the win was exactly what I was thinking you should go to, and BAM you did it. Just last night I was having trouble passing one of my top guys guard until I decided to bully my way thru the underpass just like Street did. Under pass is SOOOOOO damn important to master.

Street Ho holdin it down in an epic way :)

your grip fighting from inside that blackbelts closed guard was nice you were shutting his grips down he couldnt really start anything

Tatu is beyond legit. One of the top black belts out here on the East Coast. Trained under a close friend of his in my early days (Alex Quintella). Huge win for HO!! Congrats Louis!!

I sprinkled some of my allergy medication on his acai. That's why he faded in our second overtime.

Oh yeah, I took them down to prevent my opponent from seeing them. I was supposed to do a superfight against a brown belt Grace Barra instructor next month. But with promotion, my match will likely be cancelled because they follow IBJJF tradition. Only same belts can compete against one another.
