Post Knee Surgery Progress dealing with neuritis

Hey guys just wanted to give everyone an update on my knee surgery. Its been a tough 12 weeks Due to nerve damage The nerve damage was diagnosed as neuritis I have finally managed to ween myself off the crutches. My knee is healing up great unfortunately some of the small muscles in my foot have been affected by the neuritis and i am have trouble in PT getting the muscles back in my calf. I know this is a slow progress and I feel my self getting better everyday. I am a little worried on the prolonged used of pain killers and benzos that I have been on in order to deal with the pain of the nerve damage. Now That things are finally starting to get better and my doctor thinks the nerve issue should heal up in a few months. I am going to have to start weening myself off the narcotics. Just wanted to give you guys a status update and was hoping someone could chime in on any experiences with nerve damage. Any tips, support or suggestions are more than appreciated :D

Also wanted to point out the nerve pain is oddly only in my left foot main on the bottom of the ball of my foot and my toes.

That sound terrible, man. I've had several knee surgeries but never any real complications. Hope things get better for you soon.

Hey Big Red Destroyer!!! Hang in there champ. Sending positivity and healing from across the globe bro. Meditation can help too. It can assist recovery and healing. Try it if you aren't already doing it.

If you have been on the pain killers for 22 days or more your body will be physically addicted to it. You need to cut down slow, start by taking half a pill instead of a whole one. Just FYI if you have never experienced withdraws you will have probs sleeping, legs will feel like you have restless leg syndrome, any caffeine will make it worse. If you use mj that will be the best to help make the withdrawals easier. I have permanent nerve & muscle damage in my lower back and the entire back of my left leg down to my pinky toe. It causes me to have nonstop muscle "twitching" from my ass cheek down into my calf. Due to the nerve issues my left leg is weaker and will not build muscle as it should. Nerves are a fucked up deal my brother. I am also having some nerve issues in my right knee and shin from the meniscal repair I had in July. They say it "should" go away but that's the thing with nerves there is no definite answer on what they will and won't do. Hope this doesn't come off negative just a little info. thanks much appreciated. Yes I am smoking. Too much. I am going through a quarter every two to three days. Smoking mostly from a bong. It kind sucks because my tolerance is getting high and its harder to get that same feeling unless I smoke a shitload. I am diff physically addicted to two narcotics but am following my doctors order to ween myself off of the drugs slowly because it started to feel better and my pain level has gone down. It really sucks though because my foot really bothers me unless I am on my medications.

on the bright side I am physically starting to feel fitter and seem to be walking and balancing a bit better every day. I did my own rehab at home yesterday got up to 30 minutes on the aeroydne bike and all my other pt home work. my foot was kinda hurting after that.

I use to go through a wealth of weed, but lately, I've been packing smaller and smaller bowls, using a tiny bong. A couple years ago I was going through about a half o' a week, but now I can make 2 g's last about 6 days. My tolerance goes up as I cut down. Still smoke the occasional blunt though. Wait, I'm getting totally off topic dude...

If you choose to use MMJ, you should look for high CBD and CBN edibles. Thats the best way to intake the beneficial qualities into your system. Smoking is bad for your lungs because of the tars. And no...im not saying it will kill you, but the carcinogens are abrasive to your lungs and your white blood cells that can be used to repair your knee are being used to repair lungs. There are options for highless CBD edibles in tinture form. Just an fyi :)

I have been through the nerve damage gig before as well as the pain killers.
1. Do your PT homework religiously, no more than necessary but CONSISTENTLY. Nerve damage can take a long time to heal so be patient.
2. Do the edibles as stated before, it will help with the pain and with weening off the pills more than smoking.
3. Stay as active as possible within your limits. Blood flow is everything for healing.
It sounds like your already doing all the right stuff. Hope you heal fast.
