Marcelo= Rickson Gracie or our generation its sad to see him leave, but I'm glad that he has a thriving academy!
Love that guy.
He is having twins?! $100.00 says his kids become the next Mendez Brothers.
Whoa. Powerful. Almost gets you thinking.
Damn, like taking away a kid's favorite toy. He loves to compete man. You can see he's so torn between being responsible for his family and students and wanting to be that rockstar and compete again, either way, your the man Marcelo!
Yeah, the dude is a beast! I bet he is a bad ass teacher.
i feel this is a big moment in my life. in a lot of peoples lives. i hope that one day i can train with him and get to experience firsthand the kind of things a true master can do with jiu jitsu.
Dang, that's crazy. I feel bad for him. That is a hard decision. :-/
I'll never compete at that level, it's just a fact. I do however know that there's no feeling in the world that compares to being a father. Watching my little baby on the mats for the first time made me cry for damn near a half hour.
Marcelo makes me proud to be a human being
I think he'll be back.....thats why I love the legends matches they are doing in ADCC. It's reality that the greats can't compete forever, but that doesn't take away from their contributions to Jiu jitsu
Much respect to the guys who are in their 40's and still mixing it up, I can only hope to do the same with my journey
He's still so young that he can raise his kids to double digits or at least 8 or 9 and compete again then. He's got nothing left to prove to us, only to himself and THAT makes him a real martial artist and a legend. I admire him and glad I live during his lifetime.
WOW. What a great example for all human beings. His students are very fortunate to have such a great person to learn from.
I know I am!
