Sub from reverse spider web

This weekend I competed in the Revolution Jiu Jitsu tourney in Bonne Lake Washington. I ended up taking second cause in the finals I got disqualified for reaping the knee. even worse is the batteries on my camera died during that match so I can't even show you guys how it happened. basically he had me in full mount and I bucked him forward and was able to get both of my legs in front of him ( I can't remember what that mount escape is called) and as I kicked him off of me we landed in a knee reap. It was totally accidental and my opponent even pleaded with the ref to keep it going but rules are rules and I was instantly dq'd. however in my first match I got submission from reverse spider web so the day wasn't a complete loss. But is does suck to pay 60 bucks for a tourney and go 1-1 and there wasn't even an absolute tourney. And I used to think Jiu Jitsu was a cheap sport. props for doing tourney with bullshit rules, i seriously dont think i could remember the rule sets.

Not sure about warrior of the year, but I sure do love to watch your comp videos. Your composure and confidence on the mat is impressive. WOW!

Ive been chewing gum lately during practice. Doesnt get in the way at all.

I already said it on facebook but great finish Orchard. Sucks that the advanced division has such few guys at these local tournaments :(

Great work, I'm excited to see all of the finishes you've been working from the Reverse Spiderweb position.

I cornered a match this year where my friend who is a Purple Belt 'subbed' the Black Belt he received his Purple Belt from.
With a Straight Ankle Lock.
The Purple Belt was DQed for reaping the leg. In which it was the right call.
After watching the tape, we seen how the Black Belt pulled the Purple Belt's legs into a reaping position.

That Black Belt went on to win 2 more matches via DQ from leg reaping.

Nice. I like how kicking him over for the sweep gave you more space to pull his arm away from his body

Taught this last night and had several white belt students hit it in live sparring immediately after going over it. Wickedness

Been hitting this from Cyborg's tornado guard. Wondering if anyone else has experience with this transition..
