Damn that Darce! Yo John, are you trying to set a record for most darces on comp? Hahah. I swear, whenever I read your name in my head it's synonymous with darce. :)
Constructive criticism, for what it's worth....even though your darce is killer, I'd say maybe add some back up plans to your darce attacks/turtle attacks. Only reason I say it is because you were dominating until you fell to your back for that marce. I feel like you coulda taken the guy's back instead of falling to your back. I feel like a dick for even offering advice when I know you can whoop my ass, but I've watched all your matches that you've posted on here and I feel like it's good advice. You get turtle a lot. You fight for the darce often and it works for sure. But maybe life would be easier if you make them defend the darce so much that you catch them with something else. Unless you really are trying to set a darce record.
Dope match btw.

David, You couldn't be more right
Since this was my first time in the Advanced/Expert division, I neglected alot of things, just so I could work on getting out of leg locks, I saw it as my achilles heel. Nerves, pressure, all that Aside, I am going to start putting more reps in on my back takes and my bottom game all the time. I appreciate the comment, because you and I are essentially on the same wavelength right now. I'll be back better than ever next time. :)
Dang John would have loved to see you get that last sub in brotha! First time in the expert division? Very awesome for stepping up man. I could tell your opponent had been there before with his NS positioning. No worries. Good job!!
Tough break on that one man. Good news is that you're very composed in bad positions. That's huge. For your first time in advanced, you showed better composure than most.
Another suggestion I can think of is the watch Coach Zog's ghost series. Not just for the escape. But for the marce. He shows the ghost to the marce and I feel like the details he gives for the marce control could've helped you out. It's kinda like you uppercutted the arm through for the marce and sat out for it, but didn't have solid control of the back of the head, allowing it to pop free. Zog's detail on the control is helpful. Especially the "hoorah" grip. I'm thinking an adaptation to those details could help your marce. Like instead of releasing the vice grip, keep it, just slide under, hoorah, and lock it up...then roll up top. Just throwing out some feedback man.
You're a straight beast man. We already know you're gonna be back better than before.
Thanks Brother, I love the Ghost to M'arce, I tried baiting him for it as he cut through when I opened my lockdown, But he was just a 1 step a head of me. In retrospect, I should have just used the ghost and gotten back to guard and battled from there, but hindsight is 20/20. :-)
Your matches are always a great learning experience (even for the viewers). I started working darces after I saw one of your vids a few months back (not really sure how long ago) but now I catch them in training. One day I will get one in comp (gotta compete more).
Thanks for posting these!
Who the fuck is this Mejia cat? His game's pretty tight, sorta reminds me of a hockey fighter :-).
Good matches John! No shame is losing in a higher skill level division than what you're accustomed to! Mad props!
Yep, I've put in reps but no where near the amount of reps I've put in on the D'arce. During this downtime in Competition I'm going to be putting mad Lockdown/Whip/Sweeps reps in, JNT Reps, Guillotine Reps, and Deep Hook Transition reps as well, It's back to the drawing board and back to the basics for me. :)
I'll always endeavor to post my matches, win, lose, or draw. Im glad I was able to influence you to find your Niche with the D'arce game. While mine is the best yet (One Day), I urge you to check out Jeff Glover's Darcepedia… It took my D'arce game to the next level.
Good Question… I ain't heard of him either. :P
Awsome John.
I agree. Jnt all day. It is hard to get all the way to the bicep on good guys when they're fresh. You had to wear out their neck and lats, then land the darce. Jnt skips that, plus you never have to let go of your INSANE vice grip. Also try getting off your knees when dumping your opponent to their side. Way more leverage. Great matches dude.
Quit posting on the forum and get back to repping John :)
Can't wait to watch this.
The Anaconda, Darce/JNT/PNT are a big part of my game, and now I will be adding the Mexican Neck Tie, thanks to Boogeyman Martinez.
The Mexican Bow-tie for me is gonna take 30000 reps for me to master, Boogeymans Dexterity and Flexibility are off the charts, so he can hit all that crazy shit with ease, rolling with him is like rolling with an Octopus, he stays attached to you then gives you a little space and you get sucked in by his tentacles of arms and legs, he's super legit and I'm stoked he mopped the mats with that guy in his first Pro Fight!
Any info on the mexican necktie? Never heard of it. Sounds legit if it's Boogeyman who developed it.
It's up on his facebook and Instagram.
I posted it on my facebook feed too, if you can't find it. I will try to remember and find the time to post it here tonight.
There, I just posted it on my facebook page again.
facebook.com/jason.kurz
I would have posted the link here, but on my cel phone it goes straight to video and won't show me the link so that is the best I can do till I get home. Someone else can post it if they are on a computer that doesn't block facebook or youtube.
damn, mexican bowtie is fantastic!
Nothing wrong with having the darce ultra mastered. Yes, you got to keep adding new weapons to your arsenal but John is still a blue belt and to have a finishing move like the darce programmed into your dna at blue belt is pretty fucking extraordinary, congrats on the solid performance John :)
Yeah man. It's a direct Facebook upload, so I have contacted Boogey and asked him permission to put it up on my Youtube page so you guys can watch it online here.
Mejia, you are a major fan of the vicegrip, so the PNT/JNT/MNT is perfect to throw at them from there.

You should post it as it's own thread so everyone gets a chance to see. Some might not come in here cuz it's an older semi unrelated thread.
Good call, plus I don't mean to derail Mejia's thread either, because he's legit.
I will post it in another thread.
John great job brada!!!!!!!!!
