I've seen pics of Cade Nelson at the Dud ranch w/ a thighmaster and wonder how helpful they can be for ur jits ? ..especially if u have been doing leg weight exercises previously ...do thighmasters work ur hip-flexors as well?

It's not a hip flexor exercise. It's a groin and hamstring exercise. Yes it is great stuff, wonderful sports specific workout for jujitsu.
Cade is an amazing grappler and a really cool dude. It always a pleasure to see him and train with him.
Lol weve been talking about these for a few weeks at 10pchi. Gus Calderone was looking for one and looking them up, he said they were about 100$ on ebay... but they have generic ones for sale around much cheaper
I just went to walmart and got a bouncy ball for $3. Works even better because you can apply more pressure. You can also use it for hamstring crushes.
Yeah they original thighmasters are old and rare. A generic abduction machine will do the same thing... You can squeeze a soft yoga ball or something for cheap...
If you cant find the machine in your gym, just look for five guys huddled together offering some woman a spot

but you should never avoid working the antagonist muscles (opposite muscles). if not you will creat muscle imbalances and could have back or sciatic problems for examples.
lol true, the trick i used in school is B (aBductor) for Butt because it works your butt and D for ... you know because its closer to your D... (ADuctor). What can I say, if the trick works use it..lol
Here's another exercise you can do, it works the adductors differently cuz the knee is extended (straitened) instead of flexed (curled).
You can use an ankle weight instead of a stick lol.
I've learned it by aductors are moving the leg towards your body, as in adding. Aductors add. But sarasin21's way was a lot better!
I learned that crap 2 but I found my way easier for myself.
Like the BEE muscles as for the "mobile wad of 3" (Brachioradialis, Extensor carpi radialis longis and Extensor carpi radialis brevis).
Also do you remember: Tensor facia lata, glute med and min, all abduct the femor, and help turn it in?
I do more jiu jitsu and squeezee people :)
they do sell this hard plastic band at walmart or kmart has like 30 excerscises written on this dumb thing with thigh pads its for squeezing legs chest etc.. whatever. between that and stability ball training there is a huge difference in my squeeze over the years. not even joking Ive cracked several peoples ribs not that thats a good thing but on a quest to develope an air tight guard that someone cannot break out of ( i dont see how thats a bad thing )lol
After those pictures my grip and cardio certainly improved.
strippers have a phenomal squeeze not sure thats the type of workout your going after.
