Sick!!!!!!
In my opinion, as a white belt, she probably got it due to her swim move to spiderweb. In all reality, Miller's arm bar was probably a more difficult sub, do to having less control than one would have in spiderweb. But not everyone might understand that concept. To many, the swim move just makes it seem much more technical than Miller's. The anticipation of whether she would be able to pull it off again may have played into it as well. Just my two cents.
Badass!! ;)
I thought they were both sick arm bars though. I'm happy either way. I guess you could make the argument that Ronda already had made enough money though :)
Was interested in Camoes defence. Can someone with more skills than myself breakdown why he, from what I understand, helped the armbar come on by trying to pull out as opposed to stacking?
He had a bit of time to consider his escape/defence so curious what his thoughts might have been there?
And to finish on topic, Ronda deserved it IMO. Anytime she keeps hitting the one thing that everyone knows is coming and still can't stop it should take something super special to beat her for the bonus.
Ronda hits arm bars easier because of reps, in Judo, if you don't hit the initial throw correctly for Ippon, then you finish on the ground with either a pin or submission. Since your supposed to have control over your opponent all the time, you usually have the arm to begin with. I. E. arm bars all day!
this is perfect. Avoid damage plus break an arm!
I liked Jim's better. He deserved sub of the night. Ronda and Tate were fight of the night.
Jim Miller submitted a way more technical grappler with a set up Comoes was not used too dealing with. Everyone knew Ronda was going to submit Tate but Miller submitting Comoes who is 3rd degree black belt under Royler Gracie should of had an advantage in submissions despite being a BJJ black belt himself. It was more shocking and I think he should have got the Sub of the Night.
Millers armbar was def sick.
Miller vs rousey armbar breakdown:
Difficulty: miller 8, rousey 6.
Miller did a wild armbar from a rubberguard-ish position, kinda like an old school invisible croc, but not? Look hard. Ronda did a basic swim move from a desperation mount escape transition. Basic 10p.
Perfection: miller 4, rousey 9
Miller looked like he was a black belt in the gi doing some ugly rubber guard. I think any legit 10p purple coulda prevented/stopped/defended that. Ronda did a picture perfect swim move. Absolutely flawless (until that grip break, *wink)
Flashiness: miller 8, rousey 8
unless your in the jiu jitsu community and depending in which community, either could be just as flashy. Typical mma fan thought the uchi mata was the most painful move. Lol. Flashy to us and flashy to mma fans is 2 diff things.
Importance: miller 6, rousey 9
miller did it to a black belt, but meisha is a world class female nogi grappler, probably in the top 5% of women. So I say that's even, the deal is Ronda's was a title fight...
