Prevention... The same answer I'd give for any sub..
The turkey-wrap is my bread and butter! I use many different hamstring slicers/calf crushes... But that turkey-wrap.. Love it.
My advice is to go 50/50 when you attack with the ankle lock. You'll avoid it completly and its comp friendly.
If its locked in, I sit up and hand fight to stay on top and hand fight, or if I fall to the side, sit up and underhook the elbow to block his squeeze. If I am close enough, I look for the darce or ninja choke to force him to let it go or I tap him. Confused?
Holy christ that was painful to watch.
1) Never attack the leg they way they do, its horrible.
2) Use you free foot to block behind your own heel to prevent any further pressure, weather the storm untill they release the deep hook than you can bail out rather easily, and come up on top, usually into an doubleunder pass.
NIce Zog, please shoot a vid ahem ahem 10WO&BOp10Granklife oh and I love the heel block. Nice
No leg lock escape videos, those are saved for seminars.
You don't see Eddie teaching Rubber Guard escapes and counters ;)
BTW Bruce those are not the same subs.
First one the leg is running in the same direction as the attackers center line and requires leg curls(The Grinder), the 2nd one is rotated 90 degrees (Turkey Wrap style) and requires the legs to be stretched.
ok guys I apologize for a broad question. Here's the specific of it. Since I've added a couple more dimension to Cora's guard retention game...ie inverted and spider guard, the kids at the gym is having a hard time passing her guard now. Especially this boy. So today he can't pass her guard and hit her with 3 of these calf slicer. I'm sitting there all confuse as to when was he allow to do this illegal move? Kids can't do these type of move in any tournament. Now I'm itching to teach her the TRUCK and the Twister...LOL Here is one of the video of what he did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeuGwHdxBbM&feature=youtu.be
Prevention. Her butterfly's were out if place.. Gotta keep em sticky and by the knees.
Other than prevention, and coming up on top way earlier, at around the 1:14 ish mark Cora should take her left foot and place it on her right heel, and leg press and straighten with both legs. Try to do this before he crosses or triangles his legs, it is possible afterward but requires significant leg strength. This will only prevent the crush, she likely have to scramble up to her feet to pass or replace guard.
Yeah, her butterflies and spirals are work in progress..:) It has helped her guard from being pass less often now. It will always get better...:)
Thanks Coach. Something like this?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFwKmkfqGwc&feature=youtu.be
The Great Herzog the all knee knowing king
I dont think that Cora has to worry about calf slicers does she?
Yes, the first one is before thay can cross or triangle the legs, and the 2ns one he does is the one I was talking about when they are caught deep. The only difference is I don't push of their leg I like to push off my own heel. Than come up to my knees right into an under pass.
Awesome Coach. Thank you.
